I did not spend years of my life at university studying rome in classes that were over 50% women to let someone say "rome may be for the guys" on my post!!!
men aren't obsessed with Rome they're obsessed with being patriarchs who get to subjugate everyone around them. He doesn't care about Pliny the Elder, he's having wet dreams where he gets to be Caesar. It's unironically the new vegas thing, we're living in an age beyond on-the-nose satire. This was also mussolini's deal
when youre inadvertently 1% too nice to a straight guy you can usually pinpoint the exact moment where he decides you must be acting that way because you want to fuck down on him crazy style and it is at this point that one would be well advised to have a cyanide capsule under a false tooth or an equivalent fast acting response

If you've been reading our comics for a while without supporting us on Patreon, no guilt. Seriously.
Free comics are the whole point. But here's something you might not know: for every ten-thousand people who read our comics, roughly 3 support us financially.
Those three make it possible for the other 9997 to keep reading for free. If you've ever thought about becoming number four, here's the link:

Little reminder for the people coming from Wattpad to AO3, who might feel icky about some of AO3's content: all fanfic content, whether you like it or not, has a right to be there.
From a therapeutic standpoint, all "taboo" fanfics serve a purpose, whether that be the writer processing trauma, projecting, seeking catharsis, or just getting it out of their system. Or maybe they're just writing it to write it, or putting words to their intrusive thoughts, or another reason I can't think of right now.
And that is all okay. (They also do not owe you an explanation.)
But the beauty of AO3 is that when reading, you can filter, search for, and shape your own experience. Learn to filter unwanted things out to keep your peace, and leave the doors closed to the content you aren't willing to be amicable or understanding about.
Otherwise, I genuinely hope that you find something to smile about today, and that you come to love AO3 as much as we do. <3
I think it's important to say.
Wattpad's new rules are the endgame for any fanfiction site that wants to be "advertiser friendly."
If your fic isn't suitable to be shown to homeschool moms and 8 year olds, wattpad doesn't want it, because they can't sell ads on it.
Can you give examples or maybe some insight into what counts as "overtagging" a fic? I've gotten really frustrated seeing so many people complain about it without explaining what it is in detail. It seems that people sometimes use it to mean something like "mistagging". But I'm just very confused because I thought the whole point of tags was to give an accurate idea of what the fic contains.
âovertaggingâ and âmistaggingâ arenât the same to me. theyâre pretty self explanatory.
personally I donât mind âovertaggingâ as long as what they tag are actually in the fics, and as long as theyâre not in it for like, one sentence long.
I think people who complain about it are mostly referring to cases where every single thing and/or character is tagged even if said thing and/or character only appears or is mentioned for one sentence in the entire fic. and the tag clogs up their main tag, making it hard for people who actually want to read fics about (blank) tag to know and avoid the fic â because chances are that people who want to read fics about (blank) tag are not interested in fics where (blank) is only mentioned one time, in one sentence, in the entirety of the fic.
