some of my favorite character animation by John Carey during his tenure in the Clampett unit. perfect encapsulation of Clampett’s adoration of meshing cute characters or actions with unadulterated sadism—the galloping and waddling of the baby leopard is such a cruel but perfect way to get the audience attached and make Porky’s Very Clear Desire To Kill all the more gruesome. likewise, absolutely gorgeous musical accompaniment from Carl Stalling, the climax and crescendo in the music as Porky approaches the leopard genuinely gives me goosebumps

Frank Tashlin’s camerawork and cinematography is truly, TRULY mindboggling… this is easily the magnum opus of the black and white cartoons just for scenes like this alone. love the very stylized BGs too
