How to get started contributing to WordPress
I recently made a free course on "How to get started contributing to WordPress" for The WP Minute, so if you've ever been interested in contributing to WordPress, but don't know where to start, or think you don't have the skills, I can help with both of those things. https://thewpminute.com/course/how-to-get-started-contributing-to-wordpress/

WordPress: the untapped treasure for leverage
This week's HeroPress essay is titled "WordPress: the untapped treasure for leverage." by Chidiebere Chukwudi from Imo State, Nigeria.
TL;DR: I'm starting a video series called Topher Learns How, where I find super smart people and have them explain things to me that I really should already know.
Episode 1 is out, I talked to Donata Stroink-Skillrud, the president of Termageddon, about… Termageddon.
Check out the link at the bottom of this post.
Not too long, happy to read it all:
A few weeks ago I ran into a tool (again) that I knew I really show know a lot more about, but had always just pushed off learning it. No good reason, my ADHD simply wanted to avoid it because I knew I'd get sucked in.
Then it happened again that same week, but a DIFFERENT tool. Then AGAIN, with a still different tool.
I realized I should do something about it, so I thought about who would be best to tell me about these tools. The creators of course. So started reaching out, and so far everyone has been super helpful.
Thus began of a series of videos called Topher Learns How, and I already have some other great videos ready to go, so follow my YouTube channel and you'll get notified!
The first tool I wanted to know about was Termageddon. It's a tool that helps you keep your site legal from a privacy law standpoint. That stuff makes my hair hurt, so I avoided it, KNOWING that I shouldn't be avoiding it.
So I looked up my friend Donata Stroink-Skillrud, the president of Termageddon and we had a great talk about what it does and who it's for.
I was FLOORED by their level of support for this plugin. They analyze your site and make a custom profile what what it needs. They do personal phone calls to help you get it set up. It's probably the most impressive support system I've ever seen.
I learned an enormous amount, and I recorded it, so you can learn too! Check it out:
I have a new video out about how backups work with xCloud Hosting. It's super flexible, you can do local backups or connect to any network drive space you wish.
I recently started making videos for xCloud Hosting, and the first one just landed on YouTube! Feel free to Like it. ;)
Search every episode of every WordPress podcast and find what you need to hear.
I just noticed that WPPodcasts.com has surpassed 15,000 podcast episodes! What a historical treasure trove!
A while ago I made a video showing how to use the Quick Edit feature in #WordPress. Check it out, it can save a LOT of time.

Yesterday I posted a video in which I use GreenGeek's site migration service. It went well with a couple surprises, check it out.
Yesterday I posted a new video titled "What is a WordPress Taxonomy?" It's about taxonomies. For real.
Emily Rapport from Jamestown, NY writes about how her desire to share her art led her into a career as a WordPress developer.

I'm back with another hosting review! Kyle Mott from HonestHosting.io asked me to check out their hosting. Just as with my other reviews, I had never logged into their panel before, so you'll see how easy it is to set up a WordPress for someone just starting out.
