This November, TopJoe Discord Server celebrates its filthy fifth anniversary, which makes us one of the longest-running, active TOG discord servers in existence… Hurrah! 🎉🎉🎉
Back then, the server was created as a haven for those with a preferred ship dynamic for JoexNicky, aka Immortal Husbands aka Kaysanova, who wanted to escape bullying in the fandom. A lot has happened since then, and we’ve grown into a community that still loves The Old Guard franchise and our blorbo ship. Even as a niche server, we have plenty of members with no strict preference who just enjoy the space and the friends made there.
And this year we got our very long-awaited sequel, which wasn’t what most of us expected, but it brought new and old fans back to the fold and we were very happy to welcome more JoeNicky enthusiasts!
So we want to open up our celebration! Every year since our inception, we launch a new event for our anniversary, usually restricted to server members (you can find our previous event collections HERE), but this year we thought we could open it to all the Immortal Husbands fans who are interested in creating new fan works, so…
Welcome to the TopJoe Holiday Feast!

TopJoe Holiday Feast is an event organised by the mods of the TopJoe discord server to celebrate our five-year anniversary as a server and (hopefully) to inspire Immortal Husbands fans to create new works (or maybe revive some old ones?).
RULES/FAQ
How does it work?
From today until the end of 2025, each week we will release a new prompt list (or a “menu”, since it’s, well, a feast!). Each MENU has three (3) prompt categories: SETTING, MAIN COURSE and SPICES. Only the first two are mandatory. So, in order to create your work you must pick at least one (1) “setting” + one (1) “main course”. In this context, the setting refers to the verse/world or scenario your fanwork will take place while the main course is the theme or central element of your work. Then you can (if you wish) spice things up with the options available under the spices section.
What kind of works will be accepted?
You can create any type of fanwork: fanfic, art, graphic design, podfic or translation. You can also combine different genres of fanworks if you wish.
What are the work requirements?
The minimum word count for fanfic is 100 words and there’s no limit. Arts and graphic design can be traditional, digital, sketches, full-colour, cross-stitch, moodboards, or edits. Podfics and translations can be for a server member’s past works, or a collaboration with a participating writer in this event.
What about ratings?
Any ratings are allowed, as long your work is focused on Joe/Nicky or Marwan/Luca (actors or characters). Attention: while NSFW content is not required, if your work contains penetrative sex of any kind or simulates it (intercrural, toys etc.), the dynamic must always be Top!Joe/Bottom!Nicky (it’s our server theme after all). Similarly, for Kenzarelli and RPF fanworks, we ask that they be Top!Marwan/Bottom!Luca.
How do I sign up? And where should I post my work?
To participate, simply create a work based on the prompts. There’s no need to sign up. After creating your work you can add it to our collection on AO3 and you may also post on Tumblr (in this case, please tag us and/or use the tag #TopJoeHolidayFeast so we can help to promote your work).
Do I need to be a server member to participate?
We would love for any JoeNicky fans to join us, but it’s not required. As long as your work follows the event rules, you’re welcome to take part in any capacity. But if you want to join the server, just drop us a DM so we can have a chat. We are a niche server catering to TopJoe/BottomNicky content, but we welcome all Immortal Husbands fans who don’t have a strict preference too.
Is there a schedule?
Yes. Posting will be open from today (November 6th) to December 31st, so you have exactly eight weeks. Each week we will release a brand new MENU with prompts to inspire you! Make sure to follow the #TopJoeHolidayFeast tag if you want to follow any updates and works shared on Tumblr.
Can I write a new chapter for an ongoing WIP? Or combine my fan work with something I’m creating for a different event?
As long your work fulfills the requirements listed so far, and the fanwork is posted to our event collection, then yes, absolutely. Entries that are also part of other events and WIPs you update during the event will also be accepted.
Can I use a prompt for a different week?
Yes, you can combine prompts from different weeks, as long as you post your work within the event’s schedule (November 6-December 31).
I enjoyed the idea, but I don't like this ship/dynamic...
If you like the idea of the menu cards but don’t want to participate with us directly — maybe because you prefer a different dynamic or want to write for a different ship — that’s totally understandable. You can still use the menu cards if you would like for inspo. You don’t need to interact with us or the collection. We hope you have fun creating the things you love as well!

Gotta know how JoeNicky figured out that spooning is their go-to sleeping position... (Don't say it just happened naturally shhhh) How did they figure out Nicky prefers to be the small spoon? Surely not because that's a position where they still could've had some intimate activity without anybody noticing + they could fall asleep right after finshing

Nicky was sitting on the edge of the sink, shirtless, and let Joe come closer with the same smile that still made his heart flutter even after all these years.
"Caaareful," Nicky said, tilting his head as Joe’s hand steadied the knife against his jaw.
Joe chuckled softly. "You’ll be fine. Just trust me." With a careful sweep, the sharp blade skimmed across Nicky’s cheek. Nicky closed his eyes, slightly leaning into the warmth of Joe’s fingers.
"Hey, that tickles," he giggled, trying to pull away. Joe grinned.
"Nicolò, you're acting like you have never done this in your hundred years of living: you’re supposed to sit still," Joe lectured him, cleaning his cheek and knife with the towel he had swung around his shoulders. He leaned in closer. "Seems like you slept too well last night, huh..."
Nicky laughed again and Joe’s brown eyes softened just from hearing his favorite sound in the world. Needless to say, seeing Nicky laugh was even better. And instead of finishing his small lecture, he pressed a quick, loving kiss to Nicky’s lips. Nicky froze for a second and then immediately leaned into the gesture, not wanting him to stop yet.
"See, you're not taking this serious either," Nicky shot back with closed eyes, but the grin on his face betrayed him. He knew that. There was nothing he knew about himself that Joe did not know at this point. Joe just shrugged, holding the knife away from both their bodies just to be safe.
"It's not my face that's going to look oddly shaven."
"Are you trying to say I'm gonna look stupid? Because that would be entirely on you."
"You're not cooperating!"
Nicky pulled him into another soft kiss and infected Joe with his smile. Joe knew how he'd have to threaten him...
"If you won't cooperate, I'll shave my beard off as well," he mumbled against Nicky's lips, his free hand wandering to Nicky's thigh so he could wrap it around his hip.
Nicky immediately pulled back and his eyes widened in shock. Joe and clean shaven? That's one of the top three worst things to happen in their relationship.
"Fine," Nicky sighed playfully annoyed and straightened his back as Joe positioned himself between his legs again to have better access to his face.
But before he went fully back to shaving Nicky's face sculpted by the Gods, he kissed him once more.
"I'm gonna make sure you wake up tired and exhausted tomorrow."
it seems like the dreams they get aren't super clear/long, and who remembers a dream super well anyway? so i think the funniest possible interpretation of when joe and nicky die for the first time is that andy and quynh agree that there's a new immortal, but they can't agree on who. they can't get a clear sense of who's dying because everything is so chaotic during war, and there's never been two immortals born at the same time so they don't even really consider that possibility. and then nicky and joe are always together so the dreams aren't super helpful even after they move away from the war. it becomes an increasingly ridiculous debate between them the years they spend tracking down joe and nicky.
quynh: the muslim seems so chatty. i'd go crazy if we had to actually listen to that for eternity.
andy: well you better get used to it, because i might murder the christian and his freaky dead eyed stare, and unlike us he will stay dead.
virgin nicolò and experienced yusuf, but like, yusuf is an incurable romantic and nicolò has just forsaken a life of piety and chastity. yusuf wants to kiss sweet and slowly under the moonlight. nicolò wants to bounce on it in the middle of dinner. yusuf wants to read sonnets during lovemaking and nicolò wants to 69 on the floor.
In a similar vein: Nicolò is technically a virgin and Yusuf technically isn't, however Yusuf has read a lot of erotic poetry that is beautiful and sensual and rather too heavy on flowery metaphor to be particularly instructive with respect to specific physical acts, and his personal experience is limited to a few mutual hand-jobs with peers who didn't know any more than he did about what else two consenting gentlemen might get up to together.
Meanwhile, Father Nicolò used to take confession from Genoa's Number One Gay Manwhore, who thought it was very funny to scandalize prudish priests by going into far, far too much detail on his many and varied transgressions. Suffice it to say therefore that Yusuf is not prepared when Nicolò shows up to the 'that kiss was great maybe we could do more??' conversation with crude but unambiguous diagrams of positions that sounded interesting and questions like 'so how extensive does the prep for rimming actually need to be, Anselmo was always unhelpfully vague on that point?'
