Clark wasn't a jealous guy. He just wasn't, okay? So, someone help him understand why he was feeling the way he was.
Currently, he was stewing at his desk, watching you giggle and laugh with his new photographer who was somehow comfortable enough in just the two weeks he'd been here that he was sitting on your desk. Didn't you care that he was sitting on your papers and stuff?
Clearly not-
He pretended to work but he was using his superhearing to eavesdrop. If his Ma ever found out, she'd give him a proper talking to but she wasn't here and she'd never find out.
"Really? You've never had charcoal icecream?" Peter smiled easily and you giggled, shaking your head. "Well, see, now I gotta fix that and take you."
"Oh?" You mused, "Do you now?"
"Of course! You're missing out on mediocre icecream that stains everything black." He laughed, his feet swinging in the air.
Who the heck even ate charcoal icecream? Clark frowned, typing the same sentence down for the seventh time.
"That's not exactly a good sales pitch." You asked Peter.
"I think it's great because it's honest." He offered, "If I'd been lying, I would say it's life-changing." He jumped off your desk and turned around towards you, his body loose like a dancer's. "So, Friday? After work?"
"For the mediocre staining everything icecream?" You raised a brow
"Obviously." He said easily.
You rolled your eyes a little, then winked at him with a smile. "Okay."
Okay?? WHAT? Clark pressed down hard and broke the spacebar on his computer.
"You good, man?" Peter asked Clark, brushing past him, clapping a hand to his shoulder.
"Peachy!" Clark gave him his best smile but his shoulders instantly deflated as Peter disappeared from his view. He turned to look at you again, hoping to catch your eye but you were already back to your screen and working again.
Gosh darn it. He frowned and focused back on his work.
"Uh- Clark? You okay?" Jimmy was standing over his shoulder.
"Yeah. Why?" Clark blinked.
"You've written therefore seven times in one paragraph." He pointed to the screen. "And you broke your spacebar." He looked down at the keyboard.
"I didn't- Uh- Notice-" Clark couldn't lie to save his life.
Jimmy nodded, a little confused. Clark glanced at your desk for a microsecond but Jimmy caught it. He laughed and folded his arms.
"Oh, I see." He grinned wide.
"See? See what? There's nothing to see?" Clark stammered.
"Your little crush, man." Jimmy whispered, pulling his chair to sit at Clark's desk.
"That- That is extremely inappropriate. I don't-" He swallowed, eyes darting everywhere.
"Relax." Jimmy leaned back in his chair, staring at you. "Perry doesn't care and no one would blame you for having a little soft spot for Little Miss Sunshine." He smiled and called out your name.
"Yes, Jimmy?" You gave him an exasperated look, knowing that something dumb was about to happen.
"Movie tonight?" He teased you and you rolled your eyes but laughed still.
"Sure thing, Red. Tell me how it was." You winked at him.
Jimmy groaned dramatically, both hands on his chest. "You wound me!"
"You'll survive, you big flirt." You shook your head and went back to writing your article.
"See? She doesn't mind either." Jimmy smiled at Clark. "Or maybe she's just into photographers." He egged him on. "The new guy- Parker- He seems to be getting on with her very well, yeah?"
The pen in Clark's hand exploded and his hand was covered in ink. Jimmy looked down then back up, laughing.
"Jesus, man. You got it bad." He stood up, patting Clark's shoulder. "Hey- Word of advice?" He leaned down to whisper in Clark's ear. "Maybe you two could share-"
Clark's entire face turned red and he turned away, making Jimmy laugh some more.
"Just saying." He shrugged as he walked back to his desk, "Don't knock it til you try it."

The worst thing about seeing a movie on opening day is that you have to wait for the entire rest of the world to see it before you see any relevant media.
Youāve probably already heard this, but it bears repeating, so I will remind you again: you cannot look to celebrities as an example of what your body should look like.
These are people who have resources most of us couldnāt even begin to imagine. Iām not just talking about the airbrushing and photoshop that goes into public releases of their image. They have access to multiple minor and major cosmetic surgeries that most of us have never heard of. Theyāre probably all being pressured to get these surgeries to keep their careers active, too. Personal trainers, easy access to drugs, reckless abuse of prescription medications like Ozempic, personal stylists, clothing tailors, personal shoppers, etcā¦
And if youāre reading through this list and thinking āa lot of that stuff sounds really unhealthy, no one should be expected to live like that!ā you have stumbled upon an excellent sub-point of my post! Many celebrities are crushed under the weight of expectations to constantly maintain a very specific image to keep their careers, at any and all costs, including enough money to feed several small families. Itās very removed from what the average person is experiencing in life, and not in a positive way. But my main point is simply that when you look at images of celebrities and wonder how they seem to stay forever thin, never showing any of the less palatable signs of aging, with perfect hair and perfectly-fitted clothing and perfect lines about how to achieve it all, you do not have to look up to these people and wonder why you canāt do that. The reality is that they have a highly expensive team of people around them at all times making it happen - and most of us do not. And thatās okay. You can be okay with real humanity, which comes with wrinkles and stretch marks and eyebags, changing body shapes, and every mark that real life leaves.
(This goes for high-profile influencers too. To a lesser degree, they have these things, and theyāve made it their job to sell you the image.)
Everyone is hating and criticising the cover of āthe middleā sang by Kelty Greye in Supergirl, I havenāt personally watched the film YET but from the limited spoilers Iāve seen, yes it could be from Ruthyeās perspective. It matches. But also, think about it, maybe just maybe, all these men that are criticing the film arenāt the target audience. Weāve seen this before, with other female superheroes (birds of prey, captain marvel, ect) and even the Barbie movie!!! Where men will watch these films and not relate and then give horrid reviews that it wasnāt about them, even when it wasnāt for them. Personally, from what Iāve seen, the song choice isnāt bad. Itās not a scene to feel tense in, like when Mr Terrific put Lois Lane in a bubble while fighting around her with lighthearted music playingāitās a similar feel. This time, itās a moment of realisation that āyes, everything is going to be alrightā and itās sang in a flowy voice, like an out of body experience when the world is crashing around you but you still feel safe. You are confident in your abilities and everything will be alright.
it's time for the action movie industry to do away with tired tropes I don't like and start using tired tropes that cater to me specifically. STOP making the hero choose between saving their love interest and a civilian, START making groups of heros duke it out over which one gets to sacrifice themselves. STOP using love triangles, START using star crossed lovers. STOP casting blonds, START casting brunettes with gay haircuts (gender neutral)
also, fuck off with fridging, make fight scenes fun again, and more heros should be sad and pathetic and spit blood please and thank you ā¤ļø
hated women-led superhero movies that have complex female characters, two main characters that have a sister-like bond, villains who are powerful men who abuse girls, whilst having commentary on hypocrisy and double standards, they could never make me hate you
