recently started writing my rough drafts in one long document on my phone while lying almost completely across the kitchen counter on my stomach and lifting my feet and sort of... clinging? weightlessly to the edge... and the writer's block is gone, but at the cost of all my dignity.

but no one was home. so no one will know!

Writing as a hobby is a scam because it takes up 40 hours a week, drains all your free time, and pays you only in sleep deprivation. But the second you try to step away from it, life feels completely unbearable.

Being a writer is doubting the draft and still returning to it.

You read it. You question it. You briefly consider deleting the entire document.

And then you open it again the next day.

Doubt isn’t a sign to quit. It’s part of the craft.

If writing is a choice, then returning is also a choice.

No one forces you to sit back down. You do it because the story still matters.

Not because it’s easy. Because you decided it would.
