I love telling people that the radioactive goo that made Matt Murdock blind is also the goo that turned 4 regular turtles into the TMNT.
It never gets old.
I always have to say google it. And they always do. And I'm always not bullshitting them.

Tattoo acquired! huzzah!
It looks exactly like it should. my beautiful beautiful AD&D Beholder.
However my leggy now hurts and that's not very cash money.
It was important to me that she puts emphasis on the TOK
Omg its Kid Vampire's mama
Quite possibly the greatest family tradition we have is that if someone gets hurt on family vacation we all get to make bets on how many stitches the person gets.
This may seem like we’re assholes. But dammit you gotta make clinic trips interesting.
(The other rule is that the person who gets the most hurt was obviously having the most fun. However the goal is to have the most fun without having to end up at the clinic)
My husband: I'm built different. Orpheus has nothing on me. I wouldn't look back and you'd come back with me.
Me, who has watched as at every concert, every outing, every morning when I walk down the apartment steps behind him and he looks back to make sure I'm there, that I'm following, that he can reach his hand out and touch me: Sure you are.
I love when people are like "oh what's your haircut called" "who did your hair" and I have to take the compliment without saying that I take the kitchen scissors to my hair in the bathroom and I'm lucky enough to have curly hair so it looks more van halen than fucked up chop job.
But it is. It's a fucked up chop job. because I can't afford a real haircut. and I cannot just go to like. greatclips without them turning me into a topiary.
Its only a little funny that when I say I prefer thrash metal and my husband prefers power metal we both look exactly like that choice. One of us looks like they belong in a basement and hasn't showered for a while and if you run your fingers thought their hair it'll get caught and the other person is really preoccupied by the concept of fighting dragons. Both of us are losing our hearing.
Also: while we’re doing checkpoints, make sure you’re on WiFi and not data
And unclench your jaw
If you need to use the bathroom you have to do that now
Please get that drink of water and remember your meds
If you can’t remember the last time you showered/brushed your teeth here’s your sign to try and do those today
Set an alarm for tomorrow if you need to!
don’t forget the laundry in your drier
This was very helpful, I took my meds and had a shower.
If you haven’t yet slain thine enemies, take a quick break and do that
And preserve their body parts! How are you meant to deck the halls with those you hate without the pieces of those you hate?
Its. A little funny to have reading glasses as a 20 year old. because like, I fear my eyes will continue to degrade at astonishing levels over time. As was foretold by the eye doctor when I was like. 8. I've had reading glasses for 8 years. and the prescription just keeps getting fuckier every time I go in.
"divine feminine" "divine masculine"
just say you want to uphold patriarchal gender roles and you want to put people in tiny boxes that makes them require a lot of alcohol and quaaludes to cope.
Just say you want to make women feel bad about wanting to go out and work, or share responsibilities, or not be a mother.
Say that you want men to feel that they cannot express emotions, love, or anything "soft", say that they need to feel like if they are not "providing" they are useless.
Just say you want to trap people where they don't want to be and in places that make them miserable, but you want to be seen as a "hippie" and "in touch with nature and the universe and the divine plan" about it.
I may have an internal locus of control in that - I do control my actions and understand that the consequences of those actions are my own doing.
But at some point, when your choice originally was a trade off of *some* internal control to external sources to give you a better chance at your future and then those external sources beat the ever-loving shit out of you so hard you cry at least once a week, and sometimes in the work bathroom it may be quickly proving that you have no real control over your life. Because the only option you have right now to get away from getting the shit beat out of you is to accept thousands in student loan debt without the degree that you're already halfway through.
Anyway, all this being said, my internship site has fucked me over so so hard that I hope the whole place burns down and I never have to see it again. Because everything they do literally takes away choices that I made outside of their sphere (work/school) and leeches so far into my personal sphere that I basically am not allowed to do anything at all. (Including getting a full goddamn paycheck from the job that pays for school. Or seeing anyone, or planning anything even remotely fun for the duration of an hour.)
Its always interesting being depressed in a particular way, like I don't want to kill myself, I got shit to do and life to live, but also I am extracting very little pleasure out of life.
Like, I am swimming through molasses to do anything and my brain doesn't want to do laundry, wash the dishes, clean, do hobbies, go shopping, nothing. I forget things all the time, I can't find anything, it feels like my brain is Swiss cheese. And also, somehow, I think that I'm a good person mostly, that I have value and love to give. Mostly as the issue sits it's my vague want to just lay down and stay there until I feel better.
It's so funny to fill out forms like "why do you want to talk to the mental health professional" like, hmmm I dunno, the depression symptoms that I generally say are mild but are really all consuming, but they're also normal because I've been like this since I was a teenager ebbing and flowing through the ups and downs of my mood.
Also maybe the family history of depression, anxiety, OCD, alcoholism, and several other flavors of kind of fucked up.
Maybe the times that I literally feel like I'm controlling my body with a shitty playstation remote. Maybe that while I'm a good student I literally cannot bring myself to look at homework until it is almost due even when there are many negative consequences. And I cannot seem to fold the laundry until it becomes an impressive issue. Or do the dishes. Or do anything I enjoy.
But also like, I've tried so many of the magic tricks that would usually work because I'm the fucking mental health student so I do the walking outside, or trying little bits of the hobby at once or spending time with people I like and it just. Is not quite getting better.
It may finally be time to make the appointment for a mental health professional so that I can make all the other fucking appointments that need to get made.
I looooove talking about my cameras and my records and my cassettes. like a little dweeb.
Anyway my Pentax is a Pentax k1000, a very standard film camera, produced mid 70's to late 90's a good starter film camera with lots of options concerning lenses and attachments, and since they were so widely spread and produced you can still purchase attachments for them, I got mine from my grandma, but my dad also had one. It's a 35 mm, 400 ISO camera and I haul that thing mostly for vacation photos and stuff.
My Kodak is Kodak Duaflex, produced late 40's to early 60's and it takes 620 film (or 120 film with some finagling in a very very dark room) Its wild because you have to look down at the viewfinder to take the picture, so you hold the camera about waist height.
My Polaroid is newer, it's a onestep 2, released in 2017, and uses i-type film, but I do longingly look at its predecessor pretty often. I got it for my birthday and it was the first of my film cameras besides the standard disposable ones.
The 620 film is the most expensive, as a reel goes for about 13-16 bucks for 6 exposures. the 35 mm is about the same price (depending on brand) for 24 exposures. But i do have a place near me that processes film on the cheap for 8 bucks a reel. Since they do it in house, it is much cheaper. Though I have a dream to have a darkroom. desperately.
If you give a sibling a camera, the sibling's sibling must get a camera too.
(it doesn't matter that the sibling's sibling has 3 count em 3 cameras.)
One of my favorite games these days is "which guitar/bass is tuned purposefully in drop D and which of them are just fucking untuned"
Between all 6 string instruments.
