Miles From Morning is the third volume of my neon-noir Cityverse series and the second with Rafe as the main character. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a quick run-down...
The Cityverse is a collection of short-novel-length cyberpunk stories set in an unnamed city. It's focused around the lives of members of criminal organisations Them and The Other Side, and the military/police wing of government known as The Authority. It's aggressively queer-normative, because of course it is, and fuck the system is a major theme. Also, because cyberpunk is the official Gen X comfort genre, it's all very dark lonely pavements and neon lights in the rain etc.
I will be posting an intro and info page for Miles From Morning on Patreon the week before the first chapter goes live and will possibly update the blurb etc before then, but here's what we've got for now...
Arrested after losing the only person who ever really knew him, Rafael Turner is forced to serve time with the corrupt Authority instead of going to prison. Tragedy and loss continue to plague Rafe’s life, and when his new job starts to mirror his previous work with a crime gang a little too closely, can he find a way to hold on to his true self, even if he isn’t sure who that is?
I'm NOT saying you absolutely, definitely cannot read Miles From Morning without having read the other two stories first, but the series was created to be read in publishing order, so without at least reading Bridge From Ashes, it's not going to hit the way it's intended to. And although Name From Nowhere is from the point of view of Aria (she's a disaster and you'll love her to bits, I promise), Rafe still features heavily and there's a lot of character development happening for him in that story.

Imprisoned for a crime or five that she definitely committed, Aria Day survives her sentence remembering more than she’s supposed to but not enough to make sense. An illicit trade syndicate gives her a fresh start and the acceptance she won’t admit she craves, but her blood family’s betrayal is seared into her mind and revenge is only an opportunity away.
Found crime family. Memory is a curse, but it’s also a weapon. What doesn’t kill you makes you deadly. No identity, still a crisis. Because fuck you, that’s why.
