# 003. This blog is crossover and original character friendly. Even if you aren't familiar with the BLOOD+ universe, I'm happy to interact with you regardless. If I don't follow you back, please don't take it personally. Most of the time I'm not familiar with your fandom or can't see how our muses would interact.

In regards to the lack of canon within the bloodplus universe (due to recent information from the light novels, the twins are half white (specifically norwegian on their father's side) and half asian) I write Diva as half white and half asian (ambiguous) with a bundle of several faceclaims: Lucy Liu, Chin Chin Hsu, Vivien Leigh, Adelaide Kane, Fan BingBing, Mulan, Kitana, etc.

NOTES ON THE SHOW : BloodPlus is a very "show, don't tell" kind of narrative and it honestly takes a couple of times watching it to really appreciate and understand the new information discovered from that kind of storytelling, even with some flawed aspects. Even though it's not stated explicitly or necessarily the main focus but Jewish and Romani vampires exist within the show.

CONTENT : This blog will contain some seriously aggressive and triggering themes involving : violence, gore, murder, child death, stockholm syndrome, pregnancy, inhumane experimentation, dismemberment, dead dove content (everything will be tagged) and nsfw adult themes, etc. Please do not follow this blog if these are your triggers. I'll do what I can to tag everything.

ACTIVITY : I am a slow and intellectually disabled writer. With that in mind, please understand that I'm not ignoring you. I either don't have the right energy or mood to write anything or my attention has entirely shifted to a different muse on a different blog.

FOLLOWING : I am all for making new mutuals and love talking to other people. Just know that I probably won't follow everyone back. It's nothing personal, I just don't see how our muses could interact in the long run. the thing about blood+ is that it's an eugenics/reproductive justice narrative and for being made in the early 00s it's shockingly nuanced and every part of the story is load bearing so this is not a critique of the writing as much as it is a longing for an updated version of the story where diva aborts those thangs

like if i think too hard about how the core of diva's conception of herself is as breeding stock for amshell (from the 19th century unsuccessful attempts to get her pregnant via rape to the 21rst century bioweapon empire synthetized from her blood) it makes me want to microwave myself but ultimately it makes perfect sense for her to turn towards reproduction as an escape to the solitary confinement of her life (first physical and then psychological) and there is an undeniably pleasing circularity and moving tragedy to the fact that the one thing that finally, finally brought her the love and family she always wanted was acquired through imitating amshell's violence towards her (rape + her body as a resource, though this is also simultaneously a choice of reproductive agency on her part. it's complicated) but in using violence to liberate herself she ultimately signs her fate as riku's murder is what pushes saya to be unable to ever forgive or even try to understand her sister. it's all very pyrrhic both for diva and saya but it's too sadddd im saddddd I'M SAD i think there's a version of the story where she kidnaps riku and keeps him as a pet and finds family and understanding in him and chooses not to have children as a fuck you to amshell (her body is not a resource !!!!!!) esp. in a story that is so preoccupied with the tension between chosen family and bloodlines. and while the whole story wouldn't have the same weight without riku's death as a symbol of the death of innocence i think you can still have some tragedy in the fact that in becoming diva's partner he is symbolically whisked away to the world of chiroptera and can never return to a fully human life. it's messier but more, ultimately, like, empathetic to have riku and diva left standing as members of what is sort of an oppressed species whose right to exist in the ecosystem of life is never quite addressed properly beyond diva's children's "blank slate" as the new generation who will be "raised right" by kai. but that does imply that the abused must die, right. many more thoughts about this but this post is already convoluted

I'm making a second diva blog that leans more into her anime counterpart (behavior and English dub voice wise) which is essentially a continuation of @saphirequeendiva-blog because at this point I have no chance of ever regaining access to it 😭 anyway, I could either reuse the url saphirequeendiva or go back to blueeyedsoprano or make a new one entirely, recommendations welcome!

A revised version of Diva turning Grigori Rasputin from Blood+ Russian Rose Vol 2:

Grigori felt the warmth of her blood surging through him, igniting a fire deep within. Suddenly, his body convulsed violently, a wave of pain crashing over him before everything faded to black.

When he regained consciousness, he was struck by the miraculous absence of wounds and ailments, as if the agony he had endured had been wiped away. The first light of dawn filtered into the dim church, casting a soft glow over the stone walls. Disoriented, he blinked, and his gaze fell upon her.

She stood before him, radiant and ethereal, her presence eclipsing everything he had ever known.

He squinted against the warm glow of the rising sun that framed her silhouette like a divine halo. The golden rays illuminated her otherworldly form, making her seem less human and more like a goddess. In that moment, the revered black-robed statue of Mother Mary faded from his mind, leaving only her luminous figure.

“Who are you?” he whispered, his voice a raspy murmur barely escaping his cracked lips. He blinked in disbelief, touching his unblemished face and body, trying to confirm this miraculous transformation. “What miracle is this?”

Desperation surged within him, and he struggled to his knees, the cold stone biting into his skin. He reached out, clinging to the hem of her dress, tears of immense joy streaming down his face. “In your presence, I feel reborn. You’ve pulled me back from the brink of death. What have you done to me?”

She stood silently, gazing down at him, her expression inscrutable. The weight of her gaze felt both comforting and unsettling, deepening his sense of awe.

“Divine Lady,” he continued, his voice trembling with emotion. “Let my pain be a testament to you. I am but a vessel for your will, surrendering myself completely. Your beauty eclipses everything I once revered. No earthly figure can compare to the divinity you embody.”

His breath quickened, a tumult of awe and fear coursing through him. “I renounce my past, my former allegiances. I am yours alone, ready to follow your bidding without question. Your enemies will become mine; your glory shall be my purpose.”

Grigori paused, his heart racing as he clung tighter to her dress, feeling the connection between them deepen—a bond forged in blood and sacrifice. “With every heartbeat, I vow to honor you. I will spread your influence. In this life and beyond, I am yours, bound by the blood you’ve shared.”

He raised his eyes, searching for a glimmer of understanding in her steady gaze. “Guide me, my goddess, whoever you may be. I will follow your path, for you are the light that has drawn me from the abyss. I will serve you until my last breath.”

In that sacred moment, with dawn breaking around them, Grigori felt reborn. His spirit ignited by an unwavering loyalty to this enigmatic figure, he remained clinging to her hem, tears of joy in his eyes. He had found his true purpose: a faithful servant in a world illuminated by her divine grace, ready to embrace whatever lay ahead.

some context going forward with expanding my portrayal of diva, especially in regards to the historical women she impersonated canonically and any historical women i may decide to choose in the future:

It will be kept canon that she impersonated eva braun (A. Hitler's wife) and Anastasia Romanov. It needs to be heavily kept in mind that I am an American and my school system didn't elaborate and fully educate me in how facism grew as strong as it did during 1930's Germany. While it (Nazi Germany during the 1930s) has become a subject of strong interest for me -- in no shape or form do I condone fascism, nazism, or imperialism.

This is purely an academic study for my benefit and expanding on diva as a character. Thank you.
