YES_MAN.NAR, Version 2.0.0
Well that only took, what, nearly a year since the last version release for Yes Man? But after months of doing everything short of rebuilding him from the ground up, version 2.0.0 is finally live! I won't be able to fit all the changes in here but the main ones are:
New Menu: Looks much nicer than the previous version! Icons change with the different balloons he's bundled with!
Browser Minigame Overhaul: More of an actual minigame now! Choose 'paths' as you surf the web, and find items, websites, and more as you browse! There's also a built in shop that changes inventory every hour!
Interactions Overhaul: All questions and Yes Man menu interactions have been improved, and new mouse interactions (hugging, kissing, and hand holding) have been added! You can also find more specific items to gift him!
Events/ Questions: There are now 50+ questions for him to ask as you get to know him, and in addition there are more story events, and old events have been rewritten!
New Minigames: Added go fish, casino war, and a hacking minigame that can be unlocked as you get to know Yes Man!
Drag and Drop System: You can give your own files to Yes Man now! He might even react to files with certain names and extensions!
And much, much more! As usual, a complete list of changes/ additions can be found in the changelog!
If you're updating from an earlier version, please remember that old save data is no longer compatible and will be deleted/ reset upon updating. WHEN IT ASKS TO OVERWRITE OLD BALLOONS, YOU MUST ANSWER 'YES'. If you do not, and he gets stuck in the middle of updating, close SSP, reopen it, and he should restart the process again.

hiya! i recently found out about your Yes Man desktop buddy and its a bit complicated to get around, but i have one question... i put my name and nickname in his preferences tab, but he still adresses me as "USER" (i might have accidentally skipped the intro...) also, an acquaintance said that its possible to talk to him, how?
Ah yeah, I don't think he pulls any user info from SSP's preferences tag. If you'd like to update this, go to Yes Man's menu, click 'Config Menu' and on the line that has 'Your Name' there should be superscript text that says 'change it'- click that and it'll let you change your username.
The only way you can 'talk' with him is through the 'Interact with yes man' menu that's also in his menu. As you befriend him you'll unlock more things to tell him/ ask him/ etc.
hi! recently bought stardew and modded it with the required mods so i can get yes man, but i don't know where to find him. i unzipped the folder and put the contents [CP]yesman and [MFM]yesman into the SD mods folder. i just don't know if i installed it correctly, or where to find yes man, because the museum doesn't show a basement behind gunther. sorry for asking!!
Basement won't be behind Gunther, it's off to the right side of the museum. If you don't think it's installing correctly you can check the SMAPI console log (should be running in the bg) and scroll through it and it should tell you if it installed correctly or if it didn't load it, and the reason it wouldn't be able to.

Nope, this was an error on my end. Fixed it since it would exclude a good amount of dialogue for Yes Man, so should be okay to redownload now.

It's finally done! As a fellow Yes Man enjoyer I felt immense joy upon seeing those mod screenshots. Good luck working on that thing as custom modding is scary and idk how to do anything like that
Thank you! It's much appreciated- and tbh modding can seem pretty daunting but there's a lot of resources for making SDV mods, I'm definitely not super experienced with it myself, but its a learning experience for sure!
Events are almost finished! Just one left, and these are the most coding heavy part of the process. After this I should just have little things to fill in and add to put some polish on it!
More progress on my Yes Man SDV mod! Redid his portraits and tweaked his in game sprite because I wasn't super happy with my first go at them. As of now he has his own custom room (meant to be the Museum/ Library's repurposed basement), a custom spouse room and patio, and some base dialogue. More to come eventually!
yes man has been keeping me company (and keeping me SANE) through my last few nights of finals, thank you so much for him & for all the work you put into him :')

Remembered Stardew Valley had a big update earlier this year so I've been thinking about playing it again. And by that I mean "Ignore all canon marriage candidates and make yet another custom NPC mod of whichever guy has bewitched me" of course.
It turns out pip-boy maps based on 200+ year old data might not always be reliable, and then you don't know where exactly you've ended up...

Hey! Just wondering if you can accidentally miss Yes Man's dialogue with options for you to answer with, and if he'll ask them again if you never answered them? I've had a couple times where I've forgotten to close SSP or fallen asleep with him on and therefore I don't see all of his dialogue and can't respond to him when he asks questions :0) (asking this because i don't wanna accidentally miss out on functions because i was stupid and fell asleep lols)
You shouldn't be able to! I know for me anything that has clickable choices won't timeout, and any important dialogue has to be clicked through to get him to eventually follow with the next piece of dialogue. And for the questions even if you did miss something (I think when he starts asking your about things you like that can timeout and will just leave a floating balloon you can type into) if you don't interact with it or close it without typing something in, then it doesn't set any flags that would make that dialogue not appear.

Hi! How do we do the "Opt In" function for the Yes Man solo project to allow him to know what windows we have open? I'm having trouble finding it. Thank you so much for what you've made, it's super awesome so far!
Howdy, and thank you! Yes Man will bring it up on his own, and give you the option to either let him window watch or to not let him. Just a matter of waiting/ progressing further with him!
