As a woman and a man, I don't really feel like having a flag for womanhood and manhood is super necessary. But I get why people like having them! We all experience struggles based on our genders, even if those genders are binary. The patriarchy hurts everyone, especially those who are already minorities. Many forms of bigotry (such as homomisia) are inherently intertwined with gender. It makes sense to have pride in your gender, so long as that pride isn't oppressive.
And besides that, flags are neat, and they're useful for visually representing things (especially on Pronouns.page, in LGBallT comics, in character sheets, etc.)
But, looking at the flags representing women and men that already exist (that I could find), I was... irked, to say the least. The woman flags were just pink stripes on pink stripes. Likewise, the man flags were just blue. It's funny, because one of the pink woman pride flags was described as being "fully inclusive" (..What?)
So, I figured I'd give it a shot! Flag meanings below the cut.
Overview
I intentionally gave the flags similar layouts and meanings to reflect the fact that men and women, at the end of the day, aren't all that different. There's a lot of overlap between men and women, and there isn't anything that inherently differentiates each group. Both groups are incredibly vast and diverse, and gender essentialism has divided us unjustly.
Both flags have three bottom stripes based on the colors culturally associated with manhood and womanhood in the west. Above the bottom three stripes, there are four stripes which aren't traditionally gendered in this way.
The "traditionally gendered" colors are assigned metaphorical, artistically oriented meanings, whereas the top stripes are assigned meanings directly related to gender. I did this to explicitly subvert the common trope of "pink = woman" and a "blue = man."
The lightest "traditionally gendered" stripe (below the center stripe) represents the sky in each flag. The sky is vast and ever-changing, just as people are. The stripe below it represents depth, as there is always so much more going on inside a person that we just can't see. The very bottom stripe represents a liquid which is universally present within human bodies. Human solidarity.
The third stripe in each flag (above the center stripe) is inverted from the very bottom stripe on each flag (though it's slightly off on the woman flag for some reason- oh well). This stripe represents the redefining one's gender and the roles associated with it. It isn't necessarily about rejecting the roles, but about deciding what they mean for you. You can take them, leave them, change them, do as you see fit. The roles don't define you; you define them.
The rest of the stripe colors are based on the "traditionally gendered" colors and the third stripe, for visual appeal and harmony. I tried to make it look a bit similar to a rainbow, to represent the spectrum and diversity of gender, even when it comes to individual binary* genders.
The top stripe of each flag represents pushing the boundaries of gender. The second stripe represents individuality and complexity, and that no two (wo)men are exactly the same. The third stripe was already explained. The center stripe represents solidarity and siblinghood within one's gender (sisterhood for women, brotherhood for men).
Each flag has an optional gender symbol (Venus for women, Mars for men). The main color of each symbol is a blend of the top and bottom stripes, while the outline is taken from the middle stripe.
*These flags are inclusive to nonbinary people as well! Nonbinary women, nonbinary men, and people whose gender is somewhere adjacent to those identities are welcome to use these flags. Pleonotic people who don't identify with woman/man (and instead identify with girl/boy, lass/lad, etc.) are also welcome!
Woman flag
The woman flag's stripe meanings are as follows:

I hate how shame is such a common factive experience. Why should we be ashamed of existing?! We're "weird"? Good! Fuck normalcy and arbitrary expectations! We make others uncomfortable? Well, that sounds like a them problem, because we're not harming anyone, and one person's discomfort doesn't override another's right to exist as themselves in peace. Besides, it's not like they're gonna get over themselves if they never have to confront their discomfort, so I'm just gonna stay here and you can tell me when you're ready to treat me with respect.

daily amnesia in DID is something i don't see talked about that much, i see regular amnesia (ie not being able to remember years of your life, traumatic memories etc) talked about but never the daily things.
daily amnesia is on a day to day basis never being able to remember important things, did i take my medicine this morning? did i shower yesterday? have i eaten yet? what have i been doing for the past hour? what was i supposed to do today?
daily amnesia REALLY fucking sucks because whenever you start suffering you remember every other time you've been suffering and just scold yourself for not getting help and not getting better - but when the moment it's over? it's completely gone from your memory. it's so much suffering and you're so stuck because how can you ever get help for something you can't remember? you're always in a constant state of 'feeling fine' and when you end up getting help and going to therapy there's nothing to talk about because there's nothing you remember.
