Hello Everyone! Here are prompts for Souyo Week 2025 which will be held 9/29-10/5. The theme will be music and/or relationship and you can either choose the sound track themed prompt or the relationship themed prompt! When we get closer to the event we will share the AO3 collection for posting and as always the week of the event you can post to Tumblr, Twitter, or Blusky and tag our official accounts and use the #souyoweek2025 tag so we can see it and repost! We can't wait to see all of your creative works!
While other people are out here dropping Kinktober prompt lists with 9000 stipulations, I bring you this.
It's not a real October event, but it could be if you believe. The prompts are here for anyone to enjoy anyway.
Why "schlock"?
It means trash/junk, and that's the quality of content I'm striving for with these prompts. It's also fun to say.
But, y'know, if you want to take a prompt and turn it into a masterpiece of a whumpy longfic, go for it.
What fandom is this for?
Whatever fandom you want.
What ships can I write/draw?
Any of them.
Even [my fandom's most despised ship]?
Especially [your fandom's most despised ship].
What if I want to combine prompts? What if I want to write or draw things out of order? What if...
Go for it.
Are crossovers okay?
Do. Whatever. You. Want.
What if I want to create something problematic?
Send me the fucking link.
What does [prompt] mean?
You tell me. It's all open to interpretation.
Are there any rules at all?
Sure.
No AI use. If you need an LLM to write your schlock for you, consider a long walk off a short pier. If you need it to do your editing for you, use a beta reader instead. A stick figure drawn on the back of a napkin is better than soulless AI art.
Tag appropriately. 'Creator Chose Not to Use Archive Warnings' means anything goes. 'No Archive Warnings Apply' means your work is guaranteed not to contain any of the major archive warnings (non-con, major character death, graphic violence, or underage sex).
No irl bigotry. Your characters can be problematic as all get out, but if you try to post a weird pro-JK Rowling essay or something you're not going in the collection, bud. Don't kill the vibes.
What are the vibes?
Just have fun.
But other people are having fun wrong!
Shut the fuck up.
Are you going to be doing this?
Probably not.
How do I participate?
There's an ao3 collection right here:
Schlocktober on ao3
Otherwise, just hashtag #schlocktober or something, idk. I don't expect anyone to actually do this.
wait you understand that kinks are ok because they're fantasies that make you happy right? you all get that you don't need to have trauma for your kinks to be okay? right? like none of you think i witnessed a tragic accident on the pool toy assembly line right?
like "some people work through their personal issues with kink" was a good first step for some of the class that were struggling but i think now we're ready for "things that don't hurt anyone and make people happy are okay even if you personally think it's icky"
Upside, inside out
She’s livin’ la vida loca
She’ll push and pull you down
Livin’ la vida loca
Her lips are devil red
And her skin’s the color mocha
She will wear you out
Livin’ la vida loca (Come on!)
Livin’ la vida loca (Come on!)
She’s livin’ la vida loca

New fic!!! What if we watched the manifestations of our true selves act out our repressed desires in the TV world together and we were both guys? And also our repressed desires were gay sex? Wait, what?
I've been *trying* to make the switch over to Ellipsus, bc no gen AI is a big win in my book, but it's hard... maybe it's just because I don't write very often in general, definitely not consistently enough to create a new habit, but I still find it easier to type when I'm in google docs. Wish there was an easier way to railroad myself into it.

Summary: This time, it's Yosuke who discovers one of Marie's poems lying around.
*crawls out of my coffin*
Welp. Here's some fluff for an insane rarepair. A pair so rare, in fact, that I have zero idea how to tag it, other than Yosuke/Marie.
Rated G for... um... "great" poetry.
*crawls back into my coffin*
As the sun begins to disappear behind the horizon, Yosuke once again reminisces at the vending machine near Konishi Liquors.
Even with Yu gone, Inaba remains full of memories with him, and this place is no different. They'd loiter late into the night, talking about nothing at all; even though he can barely remember their conversations he treasured their time together. Maybe that's why he's still coming back months after the case is over.
But he's been making new memories, too. The first night he ran into Marie here was the night after his partner left, when he was still taking it hard. He'd done his best to put on a smile and greet her properly and she'd completely sidestepped it. Just pointed at his face and asked why he looked all puffy and ugly.
Being caught right after crying was incredibly embarrassing. Even lamer was the way the floodgates opened again in response. But even that night, too, became a precious memory. He'd spilled his heart to her over a can of soda, about how he didn't know what to do or where to go in a town without Yu. Marie had opened up to him too, telling him how lost she felt now that she wasn't stuck with "the nose" anymore.
Whatever that meant. Regardless, thanks to that night they started hanging out a little more often. He'd appreciated her company in those first steps regaining his footing.
There's a satisfying ka-chunk right after he presses the button to select a drink. He tries to buy from this machine whenever he can, hoping to get a free drink from the lottery— but his luck fails him this time too. As always.
He sighs, bending down to get his Dr. Salt NEO, when some sort of flyer caught in the flap catches his eye. Curiosity overtakes him and he slips the paper out, soda temporarily forgotten.
Unfolding it reveals it's an old advertisement for Junes electronics, but more interesting is what's written on the back:
"Apocalypse"
Billions upon billions of years in a single moment:
It was then I knew you would end me.
First, my eyes, then my lips,
then, my chest, and my fingertips,
all turn to ash from the inside out.
Nothing can stand in its wake,
The solar flare that burns brighter than the sun.
Not even angels, not even demons, not even gods…
Yosuke finds himself nodding along in approval as he reads. He's no poet, but it's way better than anything he could conjure up.
…Huh. For some reason, he remembers getting skewers earlier that day with Marie. When he had to leave for his shift she was scribbling something down furiously. Could this be—?
"Gaaaahhhhhh!!"
—speak of the goddess, holy shit, she's sprinting straight for him. He braces himself for impact, but she just snatches the note out of his hands fast enough to leave a paper cut.
"Ow!"
"Ugh, I was looking for this everywhere, why do you have it? Why is this happening again?!" she says, stomping her foot. "I know I put it in my bag— You didn't read it, did you? Did you?!"
"Yeah?" Yosuke answers honestly, smiling.
She stares back at him dumbfounded. "You… you did…?"
"I dunno, I thought it was pretty good," he adds. Marie's eyes go wide as if she wasn't expecting his answer, face steadily growing red. He continues. "And… 'again'? You have other poems? I'd love to read more—"
"Don't read my poems! I mean, they're not poems, they're just… Grrrr!"
"Marie-chan?"
"I hate you! I hope you get sunburned! Stupidjerkfacehorndog!"
"Huh— Horndog?! Who taught you that?!"
Instead of answering, Marie shoves the totally-not-a-poem into her bag and sprints away, her howls of frustration fading into the sunset. Yosuke is thankful she's turned her back on him because now his smile, which he'd been trying to keep friendly, is pulling itself into a teasing grin.
Never seen her that worked up before… Cute.
"What was that all about," he mutters to the open air. As for himself, he decides to head home a little early, hands in his pockets, wondering who Marie was writing about.
…Unfortunately, spending the night going down memory lane has him forgetting to live in the present. It's not until he's lying in bed that he remembers something extremely important:
2024 is already over but I wanted to make a 2024 version anyway. Technically, I did post one more fic than last year, but in terms of word count I wrote less than half the amount I did last year, so it kind of cancels out...?
We'll see what happens in 2025, I suppose. I did finally start the switch over to Ellipsus to kick off the new year, so hopefully I'll be able to make use of that "import to AO3" feature at least once. Nyahaha.
