I need people to realize there's a difference between being petty and being cruel too. Because when I say Scott isn't cruel, I worry some people hear me saying he's not petty, and that's not true.
In canon, Scott is petty. He has a snide remark for everything, he inconveniences anyone he doesn't like just because he can, he holds a grudge, and he acts on them.
But canonically he is also not cruel. He's deeply loyal to his allies, he's generous with his resources and lives, he'll actively avoid hurting people, and he openly disapproves of unwarranted cruelty on more than one occasion.
These are two traits that can coexist, someone can be petty and snarky while still being kind, giving, and loyal. And pettiness doesn't by any means automatically equate abusive behavior.
we definitely need body diversity in character designs but i don't like how people here talk about it. i thought we all acknowledge that characters and creators are different?? so why do i see people crying when characters are drawn as a different age or body type than the person they're attached to? one design isn't more valid than the other when you're interpreting literal minecraft blocks. anons, your crusade against twink grian isn't a righteous one, calm down

Yk, a thing that often bothers me in the whole "is Scott toxic" debate is that like. Idk how to describe it but a lot of the time people forget that if Jimmy had felt bothered by the jokes and whatnot he would've Said So. Like hes a silly guy for sure but like. He can v much bring up if smth bothers him. He can be v vocal about that. This fandom will like be so good at remembering single lines of off-hand comments somebody made 3 years ago but when it comes to recognising 3rd life Jimmy as a character who can stand up for his beliefs and himself suddenly everybody has amnesia
I kept getting asks about it So I'll just say it. 3rd life flower husbands weren't perfect by far but Scott wasn't like,,, malicious. Yk what I mean. I don't think he realises if he comes off as more mean spirited than he means to be.
Did he make fun of Jimmy? Absolutely. Was he a bit of a petty bitch? Definitely. But despite all the times he gave Jimmy a jab in the side he still told Cleo, who he knew would have put her life on the line for him, that he's already committed to Jimmy and won't ditch him. He still fumbled like crazy after Jimmy died and was an utter mess and said how weird and quiet it was without him.
Hot take but a lot of the people who write off flower husbands as toxic with no nuance don't rly get Scott as a character or just don't bother. And not just in 3rd life.
