Doing some tragic half doodles (because I got to see @erinashleyquinn for all of two seconds on her spring break). Juni and her cousin Yuriel on the Left. Kal and Nomura on the right.
Trying to nail down character designs for Tragic Half (a joint project with my friend Erin!). Juni is a tiny little badass and I love her!

In my Comic Scene class we switched scripts and did someone elses story! I did one for @madsparrowcomics, and she caught Demi and Juni’s aggressive friendship perfectly.

So for my Comic Scene class we’re doing some world building exercises involving research into environment, clothing, types of people, the whole hoorah. SO, I’m using it as an opportunity to do some character sketches with the research I’ve done. Just some basic linework, supposed to be Juniper (edit:key words “supposed to be”, I just noticed her ears are round....).

So here’s the crappy phone photo as promised. I have another concept sketch somewhere but I cant find it for the life of me (too many sketchbooks). I think I’m a bigger fan of the one on the bottom.

So Im dumb and forgot to scan my pictures of Fate so Ill take crappy phone pictures (I dont wanna go back to campus...) but Ive been working on concepts for the Earth Summon. Mag found a cool picture of a rock/earth formation/sculpture/thing that looked like a horse made of earthy goodness and that has so far been the inspiration. Next Ill try something that looks a little more like rock with moss maybe?
PS I need to do a horse study.

Erin and I decided to independently do some redesigns for the main Baddie, Fate, a Conceptual God come down to conquer the Physical Realm. Here’s some sketchy possibilities from me.
On the subject of Kal! He’s a bunch of little sketches with him in it.
Juniper and Kal spend a lot of their time insulting each other, and Kal likely grows attached to her before any of the other party members. They’d each be both the brother and sister the other didn’t have growing up, haha.
Kal is less of a fan of Cid. Cid doesn’t seem to notice. -Mag
