She would give him a deadpan stare, the exhaustion she felt only growing more and more apparent on her face. Akihiko usually spoke in simpler terms–what had suddenly made him decide to change his limited vocabulary? Did he learn how to read all of a sudden?

Those were all the thoughts that had slid through her head, still continuing to stare at him. She would reach out, gloved hand patting his arm before finally speaking. “ You suck at this, Aki-chan. “

He sighed out at the pat on his arm, shoulders slightly slumping down and the corner of his mouth tilting downwards.

He murmured those words out, moving his own hand to gently squeeze her shoulder for a few lingering moments. ❝ Try to get some rest, alright? Do something to get your mind off things. ❞

She was never one to hold back what she thought and it was probably showing right then. Her lips would curl into a small frown as she thought more about it, leaning back against a nearby wall.

He really wasn’t the best person to give advice on feelings -- but Akihiko did wish to help her. Frowns didn’t suit her all that well to be honest.

She was being vague and she knew that, but it was the only way she was willing to speak about such a touchy subject. It was touchy to her at least.

He hummed slightly as he thought about it, gaze shifting away from her and arms crossing over his chest.

She wasn’t very willing to open up to anyone–even people she had known for a long time barely knew much about her true feelings.

He knew -- he tried to get her to open up but he knew it was usually fruitless, so he often dropped it and instead tried to get her on a good mood.

His voice had softened -- even if he knew he wasn’t actually being loud, but if it helped her, he would do so.

HE DIDN’T lunge forwards but kept himself still and on the defensive -- he had no desire to fight anyone right now, this entire war was a clusterfuck -- and some of these people seemed to be stuck in the black and white mentality.

WAS THERE some reason as to why the area was filled with shinigami? Crawling really – and he tried to keep his presence low as he made his way with a handful of others – shame that he ended up getting scattered away from the others.

AND UNFORTUNATELY caught with one who didn’t seem to be the type who would run away. The ‘smile’ on her face left him feeling unsettled and even considering running away – until he was down on the ground without warning (wheezing and gasping for breath) and had barely scraped by the sharp blade that nearly plunged into him, scrambling up and withdrawing his own.
