Hi! I’m not sure if this is the right person or if you even want to be reminded, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to shoot my shot - and well, if you turn out to be the incorrect person then I will just disappear (not before apologising profusely though).
I digress.
Would you happen to be the writer who went by the name of Isis-san on Lunaescence? I did a little bit of internet sleuthing and found this tumblr blog (again, if I’m accosting some poor person, I deeply apologise).
If you aren’t, feel free to ignore the rest of this message.
If you are though, can I just tell you how much of a chokehold your stories had on me? 13 years later and I still remember the plot of The Mermaid Catharsis (all 3 in the series) and Piece by Piece (also all 3 in the series), not to mention, Vongolian Fairytales - these are the ones that come to the forefront of my mind only because I still remember the plot so vividly.
Like how the reader is on the swim team, or how she had a long distance relationship with Yamamoto. They only met at the hotel she was working at as a mermaid and reunited together; or when the antagonists attacked Yamamoto’s father’s shop and the only reason why he was alive was because he volunteered to walk her back home.
Or in Piece by Piece (and the prequels) where the slowburn just hit right. The angst as she watches from the sidelines and how their relationship continued to develop as they lived and studied together in Italy. I remember one scene where Tsuna took the reader out for gelato specifically on the moped. Or when Kyoko regrets dumping Tsuna for safety, choosing to retreat back to Namimori and get married to the average man - acting out at her best friend’s and brother’s wedding to boot.
Or in Vongolian Fairytales where the take on Cinderella is still one of the best ones I’ve read til this day. The use of the Queen of the Night as a flower for the ball, and how Tsuna always wanted just her from the beginning. Or Yamamoto being a bit of a silly one in the following fairytale of Sleeping Beauty, where there was a sleep potion put onto the edges of the pages in a book, and how Bianchi gave them such a simple answer. Reborn, Gokudera and Tsuna being the fairy godmothers were quite hilarious too!
I’ve rambled long enough, but please forgive me if this is rude, but would these stories of yours happen to be anywhere up online for reading? Or if you still have the story itself? I find myself thinking and thinking about your stories, and hope to hear back from you about it.
Hello hello! I actually am the artist formally known as Isis-san 🤣 sorry I didn’t answer this sooner I don’t go on tumblr much anymore.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate them! 🥰 I’m glad my stories are so loved.
I actually have to check and see if they’re on a USB drive somewhere…either that or on my old laptop. I promised someone else I’d post my old fics on my writing account and I haven’t gotten around to that yet 💀
Hopefully not too much longer!
Thanks so much for reaching out again and I appreciate your kind words!

It's really fucked up when you treat characters like people and people like characters.
No seriously it's REALLY fucked up when you treat characters as if they were real live people while you treat people like they're just characters.
I'm gonna go ahead and repeat: it is super, duper, extra scooper fucked up when you treat a character as if it were a living person while treating other human beings who are interacting with you like they are merely characters who can be written out of your personal story if you just find a remark mean enough.
You. You get it.
ETA wait why does this have 18k notes

Bonus comments:
This was honestly my favorite bit from the new Once upon a Studio short.
reading a romance novel where the protagonist feels the need to stop and inform that audience that it's okay for her, a 27 year old, to hook up with a 31 year old because despite the age difference both of their brains are fully developed. the Discourse really has done incalculable damage.
that's...they're adults 4 years apart, who on Earth would think there's any sort of meaningful age gap
