Can't believe we're still debating whether or not Mephone is an adult. Give it up.

Cobs used an abuse tactic called infantilization against Mephone. This abuse tactic is usually used against those with mental disabilities.

What Cobs said about him is not indictive of his mental age. Mephone has shown the fact that he is a mature adult several times. Mephone may also struggle with maturity, but that is unrelated to how old he is, and more indictative that he has mental disabilities causing that.

He is a robot. The age of his physical body means nothing in the context of the show.

Notice how nobody debates shit like this with 4s, or 5, or even MephoneX? It's only ever Mephone4, even though those models are all technically "younger" than him due to being built after he was.

Mephone is an adult. Point blank. There should not be any more debate about it.

Mephone is an adult who was heavily abused by Cobs. Cobs used an abuse tactic against him.

I'm glad Salt's sexual harassment of OJ is being talked about again because that stuff really does need to be discussed more openly so people can be aware of it, know the signs and limits, etc. but while the topic is brought up I think another thing that should be talked about is Mephone4 being assaulted in the s3 finally. Like, he had an object nonconsensualy inserted into his body; that is the definition of rape. As a victim, and Mephone kin especially, I still get intrusive thoughts and nightmares about it, but I want it to be discussed and addressed. It might have been more talked about when the episode first came out but, from what I have seen, it has just been jokes about sa which is! really gross!!! To be fair, I wasn't as active in the fandom at that time but it's still pretty bad if all an 'outsider' knows is the super insensitive stuff.

(Also reminder that even though the phrasing of sexual assault and rape make it sound super mature and not at all what a "kids show" would address, not all sexual acts are actually sex. Nonconsentual touching, kissing, and even vulger 'flirting' is still considered sa. Abuse has been a central theme of Inanimate Insanity so it's not impossible to interrupt sexual abuse stories from The Implications)
