ok last time i'm gonna talk about the whole situation with knights of guinevere because i really dont wanna have my entire blog just be this discourse instead of talking about stuff i actually enjoy. but it's so weird how people are using the fact that a transfem va is voicing sparky as a talking point against dana, when in actuality his va, kayleigh mckee, has gone on-record saying that she loves the fact that she has the voice range to take on the roles of male characters and chose to voice sparky because she thought it was a cool idea. using the fact that she plays a morally upsetting character as sparky as a gotcha against dana is such a bizarrely transmisogynistic reading of kayleigh's presence in this show, one where you remove her agency entirely and instead treat her as a mouthpiece for your idea of what a trans person should act like
it just further showcases the strange dehumanization of trans people certain people partake in -- essentially saying "i dont like that you willingly chose to voice an asshole character that doesn't share the same gender as you, so you're being trans wrong and i will instead use you as a vessel for me to project how you should act". all this over a cartoon pilot that's barely a week old btw
