Elder Sign Radio

Hey there everyone! I'm sorry that I'm never online, it's just because of my current project: 'Elder Sign'. I've talked about it quite a lot on my Pyramid Head blog, but now we are officially starting to get the ball rolling. We're in the process of finishing scripts and then casting, but before we do that we're going to be messaging small online shops, podcasts, even literary journals and maybe some bands if they'd like a one minute promotion, for free, in our show. Smiling, he approached. Hands in his red sweatshirt pockets, his bright yellow eyes darted around at the people he passed on the street. His blue jeans were tight against his legs, as he liked, with mud around the bottom of the leg, near his ankle. He had been traveling, walking for so long. Now he was back on Earth, and he thought to himself what would happen if chaos ensued. Right here, right now. He smiled, large white teeth sparkling as he walked. He knew what would happen. He counted on it. Of course, he was so old that he no longer took pleasure in simple delights. No, now he needed a challenge. And that challenge was the beautiful being that he knew was nearby.

With confidence, the man stepped out onto the busy street, people honking and screaming for him to move. His hands exited the pockets, pulling down the red hood he wore to reveal a strikingly attractive man. Deep shadow on his face, black hair bobbing as he stepped. With a simple flick of his wrist, cars began to explode around him, and he laughed giddily as the ash fell around him. Most of the people in the cars died as soon as the cars exploded, but some screamed in their cars, burning to death as the 'man' stood there, watching with a smile on his face.

"Come out, come out..." He whispered to himself as he turned his gaze to another vehicle, bursting into flames as the people on the sidewalks ran screaming for their lives.

"You're listening to KYZQ 110.4, and I'm your host, Tony Monk."

The radio played on for noise as she, Sophie Drake, sat at her computer, typing vigorously. She was working on a paper for her university, and couldn't be bothered to turn the radio away from whatever was on. The paper was one of the most important ones of this semester and, while it was only online, it was still important to do, and do well.

"Now, I'm sitting here, coffee in hand, and I think to myself-" said the deep radio voice of Tony Monk. There was a pause between words as the man on the radio waves took a sip of coffee. "-oh damn that's good. Well, I'm sitting here and I'm wondering...What is Sophie Drake doing right now?" There was an eerie pause before the man from the radio spoke once more saying: "Well, listener, she's writing a paper for her class! I think that's admirable, you know, I was a communications major at University of Michigan." Another pause.

"So how you doing, dear, dear, Sophie Drake?"

opheliaavery and the creatures of Leng

Human history has, unfortunately, been built upon the blood and sweat of slaves. From the Hebrew slaves that built the Pyramids in Egypt, to the servants of the Warlords of the Songhay Kingdom in Africa, to the Spanish enslavement of native peoples of the New World, and even the Mediterranean slaves of great Babylon, slavery seems to be in human nature. Humanity, a species that has dominated our planet, not our solar system, for over seventy thousand years, has voiced their opposing of slaves. It is morally and ethically horrid, according to even the simplest of people. However, what say the species without morals?

In the far reaches of our universe live a race that, day in and day out, battle against the second most dominate species on their world. The Denizens of Leng search the planes of existence for slaves, selling such slaves to creatures such as the Moon-Beasts. They seek without remorse, for they have grown without what makes us most human. Empathy.

Now, in the modern day, these Men of Leng, dressed in fine turbans and robes, watch the pitiful Ophelia Avery. They view her as they view most they hunt. From the Deep Ones, to the Elder Things, to humanity. They view her as they view them: weak. Now they stalk her, wherever she may be, and wait for her to make a mistake. So that they may pounce.

There is always life in Middle Earth. From the far reaches of Lindon to Rhûn to the east, life has abounded and fought against the ever reaching darkness. But, while petty mortal beings stress over the forces of Mordor, they forget the incomprehensible darkness that is ever so slowly approaching. Wizards, Oracles, and Priests fail to understand the plight of their intended and inevitable demise, for they do not know of it. Except for one.

In the darkened regions of the caves, lived a small creature, stricken with the most terrible of madness. It dwelled in the dark, seeking what is only necessary for it's own survival. In it's possession? A ring. A ring of power that all sought for, but most thought destroyed. Instead, it stayed with this creature, who gave it what it wanted. However, whilst the creature lived, a harbinger of destruction and madness waited in the darkness. A being of power so immense that gods trembled in it's wake, bowing before it as a servant does to it's lord.

Draped in a thick and tattered yellow robe, the creature moved through the darkness, approaching the little creature after hundreds of years of waiting. It wore a hood, but it wore a hideous ivory mask, no features behind it. Only darkness. It's hands were like simmering ivory, six fingers clasping and unfurling as it glided towards him. Now was not the time of kings or gods, but the time of the forgotten ones. The Great Old Ones had arrived.

As the starless sky of the city loomed over Gotham, there was a foreboding sense of gloom. Though it was spring, which was a season of renewal and change, this night was different than most. The weather predicted that a cold front from the Appalachians would pass over in the direction of New Jersey and New York, but this was much more than just temperature. This was a chill that, not only tugged at the flesh, but crept into the bones and souls of man, their wills and fortitudes weak.

But one man stood watching over the city as a black knight. His strength battled against the chilling darkness as he watched from his perch. The darkness provided cover for many creatures, including himself. But one was much more alien than the villains of Gotham. And this creature was seen, crawling up the brick walls from across the street where he perched. Whether the black, hidden creature knew that it was being watched or was oblivious was unimportant. What was important was that it was evil. He could simply look upon it and tell.

thedrelliot and the Pillar of Na-Hathina

The black leather shoes stepped across the tile, briskly stepping into the professional office of Dr. Thomas Elliott. The steps that echoed in the hall belonged to a man dressed in a navy blue professional suit. He was mid-aged, with a balding head and large circular glasses that were firmly planted on the bridge of his nose. In his right hand he carried a large brown brief case, locked with a custom-made interior lock. His left hand swung back and forth with each step as he approached the desk of the secretary guarding the good doctors door.

Once upon the threshold of the desk, the man looked down at the secretary, using his left hand, his free hand, to push up his glasses fully before speaking.

"Professor William Julien, from Miskatonic University in Arkham, Massachusetts. I’m hear to speak with Dr. Thomas Elliott." Said the man with his, clearly, educated and cunning tone. When the secretary did not answer immediately, the professor nodded and gave a small grimace. "I’ll wait then."

With that, the man turned and took a seat, waiting until the doctor, and Wayne Enterprises share holder, would speak with him.

It had been a long day at the hospital and Tommy had forgotten about the professor’s arrival.  They had spoken on the phone previously about a rather unusual case that the doctor had some manner of expertise in.  Apparently several victims had been found with their brains surgically removed with great precision.  The task itself would be challenge enough for him as one of the foremost neurosurgeons in the country let alone an unknown amateur serial killer.  Whether or not Professor Julien came to follow up on that was unknown, but the man certainly seemed to have no lack of oddities to discuss.

Tommy received a buzz from his secretary that a guest had arrived on the ground floor.  Despite the work that had piled onto his desk it seemed best to attend to the matter and get it over with.  It took several minutes for him to descend from his office that was high above the sky line only to arrive with a well practiced smile.

"Ah, Professor Julien I presume?  It’s a pleasure to finally meet you in person," he offered his hand with a more genuine expression, "My apologies for the delay, I nearly forgot you planned to drop in.  Shall we adjourn to my office?"

"Yes, I am he."

Doctor Julien stood up, taking Elliott's hand in his and giving a hardy shake.

"Oh, of course. You should know that when the University told me of your...predicament, I knew I had to arrive straight away. I took the first train I could-I don't like flying- and brought this!" The doctor brought the black leather briefcase up to be viewed. The doctors free hand placed itself on the case's polished face, as if to protect whatever was inside.

"I think you shall find it most interesting, doctor. Most interesting indeed!"
