can we please bring body glitter back in 2017. we already have enough to deal with in 2016 but 2017 is the year we need to fully commit ourselves to glitter and all things that sparkle. who is with me.
i hope you all realize that reblogging this is a binding spiritual contract and i expect follow through
You can make your own body glitter incredibly easily. You’ll need:
Pure aloe vera gel. I get a big ol tub off of ebay for like a fiver, keeps me going for a nice long time.
Some small clean jars to put yer goop in. I get a big batch of clear screwtop plastic storage jars off ebay for a quid and make glitter gel gifts for friends. Keeping the goop size small means you use it up fast before it dries out.
An assload of glitter. Again, ebay has this in many different sizes and colours, which is what you want. I also get mine from facepaint-uk.com, which is my favourite shop in the world probably. make sure to get a variety of sizes, colours, and shapes: that looks best tbh. If you can get it in ziplock baggies as opposed to like jars and shit then it saves you money on pointless packaging because who cares
HOW:
Take jar. Shoof a buncha glitter in the jar. Not enough to fill it, fill it like a quarter of the way with a mix of glitters. I usually fill it a third of the way because I like my glitter gel to be excruciatingly glittery
Squirt some aloe gel on top to fill the jar half way. Stir carefully until a gritty paste is formed. nice
Add a bit more aloe and stir again. Keep adding gel a bit at a time until a smooth glitter gel is formed.
Put the lid on and marvel at your creation! Well done. Now wear it all the time. I wear mine to work habitually. It might dry out if you don’t screw the lid on well - but it can be rehydrated with a few drops of water and a good mix. I tend to tear through mine pretty fast though.
Let the contract be bled on and wrought.
For those of you who want to make your own glitter gel, this is a very good tutorial.
(Listen closely: you can hear @peteventers muttering “nooooo not glitter.”)
* drink at least 64oz of water per day * exfoliate 2-3 times per week * shampoo once a month * deep condition hair weekly * wash your face twice a day * make sure you tone and moisturize after washing your face * exercise at least 4 days a week, more is better if you can * WEAR FUCKING SUNSCREEN * keep alcohol and drug use to a minimum, none if you can * pray or meditate daily * keep your nails done, even if you gotta do them yourself * read a book worth reading * add a hair vitamin to your regimen if you wanna grow hair out * trim your ends when necessary, please * don’t let these niggas stress you
- eat your veggies and fruits - do your squats - go to bed at a decent hour - wake up early - eat a nice breakfast - STOP DRINKING FUCKING SODA - drink tea - wear makeup if that’s what you wanna do and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t - don’t sleep in your makeup though - do your protein treatments cause they’re important - cranberry juice NOT cranberry juice cocktail - do yoga - go outside, get some sun and fresh air
This apply to niggas too take care of yourselves please
tea can be really bad for you if you’re not drinking the right kind or adding a bunch of shit to it , jus fyi
my tip - always swallow
- Diet soda is just as bad (or worse) than regular soda. Limit if you can. - Teas, alcohol, dark colas are *all*diuretics! You lose water while drinking them! - Rehydrate, rehydrate, rehydrate. - Pedialyte is the best godamn thing ever made. 1 liter, balanced electrolytes, and very minimal calories/carbs/sugar (for diabetics, etc). Also great for a hangover!

What's wrong with your plants?
This has helped me pinpoint what’s wrong with some of my plants incredibly easily! For those who don’t have the greenest thumbs 😊😊
Enjoy!
Symptom: Long, pale leaves; small new leaves Cause: Not enough light; too much nitrogen Cure: Give plant more light; reduce fertilizer frequency
Symptom: Leaves curl under or have yellow or brown spots Cause: Too much light Cure: Move plant away from light source, or shade plant with blinds or sheer curtain
Symptom: Mushy stems; lower leaves curl and wilt Cause: Too much water Cure: Water only when soil is dry to touch; make sure drain hole is not clogged
Symptom: Leaf tips are brown and leaves wilt Cause: Not enough water Cure: Soak pot for 20 minutes in water and let drain; water when soil is dry to touch
Symptom: Leaf edges are crinkly and brown Cause: lack of humidity Cure: Mist leaves, or place pot on tray of moist pebbles
Symptom: Lower leaves turn pale and drop off Cause: Lack of fertilizer Cure: Fertilize plant regularly during growing season
Symptom: Leaves turn yellow or curl and wilt Cause: Too much heat Cure: Move plant to cooler spot in house; be sure plant is not close to heat vent or on top of TV
Symptom: Plant wilts between waterings; roots growing out of drainage hole Cause: Pot too small Cure: Repot plant into a container one size larger
Ooh, Very nice. :)
Witch Tips for City Witches
City Witch Tips for all of my fellow witches stuck in apartments, dorms or other city areas.
If you can’t burn incense you can make your own sprayable incense by mixing alcohol (usually vodka or rubbing) with essential oils and a bit of oil, spray in the air to act like incense
If you are unable to go outside for whatever reason to get rain water (in my case just no where to collect it safely), fill a jar or glass with regular water and keep it near a cracked window to charge it with the wind, sound and scent of the rain outside. Same goes for storm water
Trapped in city and unable to get ocean water? Sea salt mixed with rain/storm water can be an excellent substitute
To continue on with water substitutes, if you can’t collect snow crushed ice from your fridge will suffice
Low key warding/protection you can use: spray moon water, salt water or sprayable incense about your apartment or dorm, place sigils under doormats, furniture, inside cupboards, etc; place crystals about hidden or out in the open, sweep and dust out the door or towards windows
If you need melted wax to seal a jar or for any other magical purpose, but can’t burn candles, by a wax melter and melt that wax and imagine the light from the burner acting like a flame (plus they are rather cheap, I got mine for 25 bucks)
Need stars in your craft but too much light pollution? Glow in the dark stars on your ceiling or wall can work just as well for visualization. Print out pictures of your favorite constellations or planets and place them up on your walls or on your altar. Live video feed of the night sky can also be easily found on the internet
Bath magic is amazing for low-key ‘in the woods’ witches. Use teas, milk, oils, herbs, bath bombs, bubble baths, salts, etc that relate to your intent. It is also a good place to meditate if you have roommates or family around that would disturb you otherwise
If you do for whatever reason need to burn a candle, birthday candles are small, melt fast, and don’t create a lot of smoke or smokey scent
Sigils are another great low-key form of magic. To boost them up, use color magic related to the color you draw them in, write them using quills made of feathers related to your intent, use colored paper, rub a drop of essential oil on them, charge them with crystals or in your windowsill
You don’t have to burn sigils to activate them, which is hardly an option when you are in a dorm or apartment. Other options are: Shredding them, erasing them, soaking them in a bath or shower, using body heat or your own pulse, etc
Miss having the outdoors and plants around? Windowsill gardens can really help. Small plants you can consider keeping in your windowsill or counter-tops: succulents, cacti, bamboo, lemongrass, basic, rosemary, mint, rosemary, mosses, aloe, snake plant, pothos (and other vines), carrots, beets, shallots, lettuce, spinach, garlic, chives, parsley, oregano, thyme, and marigold
Open your window to let the wind and air from outside to help energize you and clear out negative energies inside
Fun places to put sigils: under furniture, carved into soap, onto shampoo/conditioner bottles, on your make up, inside phone cases, in shoes, under bandages, sewn into pillow cases and blankets, behind pictures in frames, underside of nail polish, carved into wax squares for your wax melter, keys and keychains, behind mirrors or in medicine cabinets, on bookmarks, on or in binders and pencil cases, on medicine bottles, and water bottles/travel mugs
Easy to make and dispose of poppets: carrot sticks (one of my personal favorites), apples or other fruit, clothe, paper, popsicle sticks, paper towels/napkins, toilet paper rolls, eggs, celery stocks, and cotton balls
The internet is an amazing thing. Need some sounds to help you focus or meditate? Easily look up the sounds of rain, storms, wind, ocean waves, jungles, forests, etc
Christmas lights are fun and great way to use discrete witchcraft. Select ones in the colors you wish for them to bring ie green for growth, yellow for inspiration, white for protection, purple for psychic abilities, etc.
Some everyday things you can use for discrete witchcraft that don’t cost much at all or that you most likely already have: water, table salt, black pepper, paper, crayons/pencils/pens/markers, vinegar, milk, tea, highlighters, make up and beauty supplies, shampoo and conditioner, rubber bands, paperclips, thumbtacks, computer/phone/tablet, music/music player, playing cards, dice, air freshener, perfumes, toothpaste, rice, flour, sugar, honey, and all kitchen herbs and seasonings.
Can’t afford gemstones or crystals on college budget? Crackle and dyed quartz you can find super cheap at craftstores and online. I bought a whole bag for 4 bucks. Use them based on their colors and shapes. Can’t afford that but still want to use rocks in your craft? Find some rocks you like outside, again use their colors and shapes to determine their correspondences. Want to use them for a specific purpose? Paint sigils on them in the color that corresponds with what you want! Charge them in your windowsill or with your own energy and intent. There you go!
Pocket mirrors are cheap, easy to carry around and great for glamours and on the go magic.
Seriously though, glamour spells are going to be a good option for you. use your make up, skin products, hair care products, brushes/combs, perfume, mirrors, toothbrush/toothepaste and intent. Good to do while you are getting ready for your day
Dream magic is another friend of the city witch! Use crystals, sigils, herbs, etc near your bed before you go to sleep, drink some chamomile, get yourself a dream journal (mine is literally a notebook with construction paper on it), keep it and a pen near you. In the morning write down your dreams, your thoughts, how you feel (tired, refreshed, groggy, etc), and interpret them.
Can’t afford tarot cards? Print out some, you can usually find them online and they won’t last as long as a real deck but it is a good temporary solution. Want a Ouija board but can’t keep one or need it to be easily hidden? Print one out, draw on one on paper or cardboard, fold it up and store it once you are done. Want a pendulum but can’t afford one? Use your favorite necklace, bracelet or keychain!
Tea and coffee magic is great, make your own tea blends with the herbs you like. Or just buy simple green or black tea and add sugar, milk, etc depending on your intentions
As I said before, crock pot magic. The Modern Cauldron: brew and cook all day with it, fill your apartment with the scent of the herbs and food to fill it with the energies they correspond with and you get a delicious meal to come home to! Most dorms allow them. Rice cookers also work well.
Can’t afford fresh food? Have to survive on ramen, canned soup, and microwaved meals? That is okay! They even correspond with things! Tomato soup for love, beauty and passion. Beef ramen noodles for strength, courage and longevity. Microwave mac n cheese for beauty and feminity. Look at their ingredients and what they correspond with. Sure its not as glamorous as a making a huge made by scratch traditional meal but its kitchen magic none the less. Stir it with your intent while you cook. It isn’t fancy but it works just as well!
Use a notebook or binder for a nice grimoire, decorate it as much as you want on the inside. Print out pictures of nature, animals, planets, stars, places, crystals, etc that you cant’ access/afford and use them in your craft. Spell books and grimoires are powerful tools
Don’t have a wand? Use a wooden spoon. Tie a colored string or ribbon to it to correspond with what energy you want it to have and move and flick it as you would a wand.
Knitting, crocheting, and knot magic is very apartment friendly. As well as sewing and embroidering plus it is super calming.
Glitter, sequins, and beads are great in witchcraft! Use their colors to determine their correspondences. Put them in spell jars, sachets, bottles, etc. Glitter tip: if you spill any don’t fret, get some packing tape, wrap it around your hand with the sticky part outwards and dab at that glitter spill. You will literally pick up all of the glitter in seconds!
Enchant and charge your pots, pans, skillets, and other cookware to make every meal magical
Make moonwater in your windowsills. Use it for cleansing, beauty, divination, clarity, protection and purification
Take walks. Even if it is a city there is still nature about. Pigeons flying about, potted flowers outside of stores, grass growing in front lawns, etc. Enjoy yourself, even if it is not some wild, vast forest you can still connect with your local nature.
Pick up litter or garbage you see outside, being in the city we all see it. The natural world around you will appreciate you helping out. Bring a bag with you when you take your walks or travel and fill it with wrappers you see on the ground.
I hope this was helpful to all of my fellow city and dorm witches!
Witch Tip: Stock up on coffee filters
Especially those round ones that you can lay out flat. Seriously, they’re the cheapest and most versatile store-bought tool I use.
-Easily sewn into tea bags for homemade tea blends -Completely biodegradable and safe to bury -Quick and cheap sachet material -Perfect for herbal bath mixtures so you don’t have to clean up after (in my experience you should use two for this since they might rip if overstuffed) -Rubber band one over a jar to filter herbs out of herbal water mixtures, or clean dirty rain water (I still wouldn’t drink it, but it’ll look nicer) -Collect the rain water with one on it from the start to keep bugs out -Use one as tracing paper on your screen if you’re not good at copying sigils or symbols -They look completely mundane in your cabinets if your craft is a secret -A pack of 100 is like $1.50 at most
There’s probably a lot more I haven’t thought of. I just love these little things.
DIY Sea Shell Candles🕯🌊 made from recycled birthday candles
I’m sure there are plenty of posts like this one, but I’m just proud that I made some myself! So here’s my process!
What I used:
~ Old birthday candles ~ Shells (Mine were muscle shells) ~ Essential Oils of your choice(I used chamomile & peppermint) ~ A peeler, knife or scissors ~ Something to melt the wax in(I was lucky enough to have metal measuring cups) ~ A clothes pin to keep the wick up
Here’s how to do it!
Originally I was just trying to get the white design off the candles, so I could have homemade looking colored candles for spells. I ended up breaking a few of them while trying to peel the design off so I just used the left over candle and reused the wick for my sea shell candles!
🕯First I scraped the design off(carefully), and kept them in piles of the color. You’ll have to break one of the candles for the wick. One wick will work for two sea shells unless your shells are larger.
🕯Second I put the scraps of wax into the metal measuring cup and placed that on a pan on the stove to heat it and melt. Once melted, I tossed a few drops of my essential oils into the wax to make it smell good. I used chamomile(for calming, success, & easing anxiety) & peppermint(for healing, love, cleansing, and that extra little boost I need sometimes!) But feel free to add whatever you like!
🕯Third I poured the wax into the shells carefully. You may want to make sure the shells are evenly placed, maybe put something on one side to balance it so the wax doesn’t spill out. Then, while the wax is still hot I used a clothes pin to put the wick in and left it to dry. Once dry, your shell doesn’t have to be level(unless you filled it to the top - then your wax will shift when lighted!)
That’s it! It was super simple and easy and quick. Now I also have some great, mini and homemade looking spell candles as well as some aromatherapeutic sea shell candles for my desk while I work & read. Enjoy your sea shell candles my fellow witches! 🌙
Blessed be🥀

Wake: a potion for last minute mornings, rough weeks, and all-nighter recovery
As some of you may have noticed, I’ve been a bit absent from this blog since college started back up—mostly due to being completely overwhelmed by a tremendous amount of work in addition to my school duties. I’m sure we’ve all been there; you’re treading water with your normal workload, when suddenly everything else goes belly up and you’re stuck with WAY more than you think you can cope with (and, if you’re like me, you might even get lucky enough to catch a gross cold on top of that!).
Well, the good news is that you probably CAN handle what life is throwing at you. The bad news is it’s probably still going to suck for a while as you get things back under control. A little self care can go a long way at such times, so this and the next few posts will focus on just that! This first recipe (or potion, if you prefer) is quick, dirty, and a lifesaver on rough days. It’s simple, and can easily be tweaked to replace different ingredients (chai instead of coffee, etc.) as long as they abide by the same goals: keep awake, keep fed, and keep going.
BASE:
Coffee (or another stimulant)
Sugar to taste
Optional, if you have time:
Pinch of cinnamon (energy, good vibes, strength)
Dash of clove (protection)
Peeled ginger (strengthens and intensifies workings it is part of)
Vanilla (restores lost energy)
Pinch of calendula flowers (courage, energy, protection)
If you’re in a rush, just make coffee or caffeinated tea as you normally would and move to the next step. If you have a few minutes—or are prepping ahead of time—you have two options:
1. Steep the optional herbal ingredients in coffee while gently heating until infused, straining once finished, or
2. Place herbs in a saucepan with a 2 / 1 mixture of sugar and water, enough to cover the herbs. Heat until sugar is melted and herbs have fully steeped their flavor into the syrup. Strain and bottle to add to your coffee base later.
If you are using vanilla extract, do not add it until the mixtures are cooled from a simmer, as the alcohol will evaporate. If you are very stressed while making this, I recommend stirring counterclockwise to banish negative energy and taking the simmer time to take a few deep breaths, clear your mind, and try to release a little tension.
To your base, add the following:
Milk/cream/soy (adds healthy fat and calcium—milk’s a food, too!)
Powdered nuts; specifically, I like a big scoop of powdered peanut butter for this (peanuts bring prosperity and protection), but there are a lot of different nuts with different properties available on the health market. A big huge jar of powered peanut butter will run you only about nine bucks at most stores.
This part seems like it might taste bad (I know that’s what I was afraid of when I first made it), but it’s honestly kind of good. And most importantly, both the above ingredients—mostly the peanut butter—are full of protein and good fats, which upgrades this from a short-term energy boost to something that will actually sustain you throughout the day.
When mixing the components, I place them all in a jar and shake vigorously. Jars are great for carrying drinks around in (or am I just weird?), and shaking the potion is my favorite point to really focus on its purpose: energy. If you want, this is a solid little chant to do over it as well, especially if accompanied by visualization:
I won’t rest; sleep won’t take me
Daily trials will not shake me
I am still here, standing strong
Time for rest has come and gone.
Throughout the day, this serves as a light power shake and a great way to kill both your hunger and your caffeine addiction at the same time. When I know that I’m not getting back home until late, this is my go-to for powering through the day!
Charging a Sigil
Fire:
Write it on a flammable surface and set it on fire (I favour bay leaves)
Carve it on a candle and let the candle melt (you can pick the candle colour according to the spell/wish)
Carve it on a surface with a pyrograph/something hot or carve it on something and put it close to fire where it can charge up.
Draw it on a firework and set it off.
Draw it at the bottom of a tea light and put the candle back in.
Air:
Draw it on a windchime and hand it up.
Make prayer flags with the sigils on them, or a simple flag that’ll blow in the wind.
Draw it on something light and non-polluting and let it go with a gust on wind.
Draw it on a balloon and pop it.
Draw it on a paper kite and let it go in the wind.
Water:
Draw your sigil on a soluble material and let is dissolve, it’ll also charge the water or draw it at the bottom of your cup and it’ll charge both the water and sigil.
Draw it on something non-soluble like a rock and let it soak or even throw it in the river;
Draw it on yourself when taking a shower and let it wash off.
Draw it on the shore where the water will wash it away.
Earth:
Draw it on something from nature (so as not to pollute) and bury it.
Charge it with a crystal grid/previously charged crystals
Draw it on the earth.
Draw it on the leaf of a plant.
Light;
Place it in the sun or moonlight and let it soak it up.
Draw it with a glow in the dark paint.
Draw it on something that’ll disappear like fog on a mirror, lemon juice, ultraviolet pen and such.
Your own Energy:
Meditate on your sigil by focusing on it while you direct your personal energy into it.
Have it near you or on you during sex or masturbation.
Draw it on yourself and dance, sing, workout.
Have it on or near you during extreme pain or emotional states (anger, joy, sadness, etc.)
Draw it with your blood/drop some blood onto it.
Extras:
Place it on a charging device (phone, computer)
Place it on speakers and blast music that matches the intent
Sing/Play an instrument to it
Draw it on the sole of your shoes
Draw it on/near a grave/with grave dirt/anything symbolic of death
Post it on a website such as tumblr where likes charge it and reblogs cast it.
Draw it on paper and tear it up
If you have your own way of charging sigils, do tell me, I am curious, and I’d like to add to the list, since this is in no way the only ways of doing so.
Witch Tip
If you have trouble visualizing energy or feeling it, rub your hands together fast for a bit and then take them apart. Feel that kinetic energy from your body move between them. Now try to manipulate it!! I do this with almost every spell and it helps me feel the energy move as well as visualize it.
How I Made Rosewater
1. I took the petals of four roses and placed them in a large pot. Put enough distilled water to cover the roses, not much more as to not dilute the water.
2. Heat to a simmer on a medium/low heat. Cover and let simmer for 20-30 minutes until the petals are pinkish.
3. Strain into another pot, let it cool before putting it in a jar or container to store.
Bonus: To make some facial mist I put 1tbs of the rosewater into a 2oz spray bottle and fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water.
Tip to know if the evil eye is in your house
Here’s a simple way to find out if the evil eye is in your house.
You’ll need:
A bowl
Water
Cooking Oil
How to proceed?
Fill half of the container with water.
Verse two or three drops of oil in it.
Watch the oil reaction.
If the drops fall to the bottom of the container, you’ve got the evil eye
If the drops stay on the surface, you don’t have anything.
Good luck!.
