đ getting back into your tarot routine đ
it happens to the best of us.Â
no matter who you are, what stage of your practice youâre in or why you choose to read tarot, there will come a point in your life when you realise you havenât been picking up your cards as much as you should have.Â
itâs happened to me the past month - through various incidents, iâve barely read for myself and only touched my cards to do paid readings. while this might have been the best option at the time for me, now i know i need to get back to the level of comfort and routine i was with my cards. so, hereâs what i do when i fall out of love with my tarot routine!
if you need to, reconnect with your decks. if itâs been a while, iâd highly recommend having a sit down and a chat with them. kind of like a deck interview spread, you can ask them if anythingâs changed, and if their style of reading will still be the same for you.
start off simple. try incorporating a daily draw into your routine, or even just a day in your week to read a little tarot for yourself. it can be as many or as few cards as you like, but donât overcomplicate things! it might end up confusing you, which wonât make you want to keep reading.
remind yourself why you love tarot. what drew you to divination? why do you enjoy reading the cards? what do you get out of divination, and how do you give back in return? ask yourself these questions, and you might find that spark youâve been looking for.
accept change. this is a tough one for me especially, but often the reason our routines grind to a halt is because theyâre just not right for us. itâs okay to change your style of reading, and you should try your hardest not to compare your routines to other peopleâs! iâve always said that divination is a highly personal practice, and your routine should fit you, rather than fitting other peopleâs expectations. figure out if there was something that stopped you from continuing, and donât be afraid to cut that out of your routine in the future!Â
do a challenge. this could be a daily challenge created by some of the wonderful diviners out there, where you pick a card each day for a set question/topic. or, it could be a challenge you set yourself! sometimes, structure can really help with regaining a routine, and having a scheme to follow for a while will definitely get you back into the swing of things.
branch out. once youâve found that spark again, explore and investigate. perhaps your routine was⌠just too routine for you, and thats why it stopped. find some new and exciting aspect of divination and learn as much as you can! your journey of growth will never end. embrace that!
i hope you all find your love for divination again! also, these tips can help you recover your witchcraft routines, or even something mundane like school work! and, if a routine doesnât work for you⌠you donât even have to have one. just enjoy yourself!

metaphysical shops never have resources (ESPECIALLY literature) for the Greek pantheon ughhh i just want some Books Baby!

Reasons to love yourself (for the signs):
ARIES: you know how to compete with others, donât ever doubt yourself because itâs a waste of time. People might get frustrated that you get mad easily but itâs just how you cope. You are beautiful and inspiring with what you do.
TAURUS: you are so strong and never give up on your beliefs. If people ever call you stubborn theyâre jealous because you stand up for yourself and they canât break you. Even if youâre sad, you are there for everyone and tougher than a nail and you should be proud of yourself.
GEMINI: you know how to make others happy. You are so brilliant and smart. Donât sell yourself out because people judge you, they just canât keep up with your optimistic outlook on life. Dark days are common but donât let them stop you.
CANCER: you are such a little cupcake and you get so sad so easily, but thatâs common and you are stronger than you think. You are always making sure your friends are okay and itâs time to make sure you are okay too.
LEO: you are the most selfless people and you never let others stop you from what you want. Your independency can be intimidating for others but you are so tough. You are a natural leader. Strong, proud and beautiful.
VIRGO: you are organized and amazing and no one can step in your way from achievement. You are cute and respectable and people adore you. You have such an amazing sense of humor and you should tell yourself that. You deserve so much.
LIBRA: you are such a dreamy person. You are beautiful and your eyes tell stories. You are kind and people always soak you up (in a good way). Your bright smile tells people that they are welcome in your life. You are amazing!!
SCORPIO: you are not the devil that people claim you to be. You are so caring and always there for everyone. Please donât ever doubt yourself because you are strong. People aspire to be like you, always remember that.
SAGITTARIUS: you put up this facade and people think you donât care. Although this can be true, you care so deeply for the people that you are close to. You are such an adventurous soul that craves all things fun and thatâs amazing.
CAPRICORN: you are so brilliand and amazing in every single way. You are witty and donât let people bring you down, which is so inspiring. No one will ever tell you how to live your life and that is great.
AQUARIUS: people may be intimidated by your crazy independency but that shouldnât stop you. You are so tough because you can handle every single obstacle that is put in your way. You are unique and constantly inspire people to be amazing. No matter what happens, keep going and ALWAYS be yourself.
PISCES: no one can keep up with your mind, you are such a physic soul that is unstoppable. Emotions may get you down but you are deep and people connect to you easily. You are sunshine on a gloomy day.
What Native people say about the use of sage: you can use sage, but you cannot smudge as nothing you are doing (waving sage around) is actually smudging. Smudging is a ceremony and you are, we promise, not smudging. Please buy sage from either us, or someone who sources the sage from us. White sage may not be considered endangered by the US government but corperate sourcing is making it difficult for us to source sage for our own religious purposes. Let alone to sell it.
What white people hear: never use sage ever, donât ever buy it, donât own it, donât even look at it.
Look, yâall. Thereâs a couple of facets to my talk today.
1) Yes! You can buy sage! You really, truly can! Buy it from either native sellers (go to a powwow! Eat our food, buy our stuff, watch some dancing!) Or buy it from a seller who sources the sage from native people. Pick one. And no, buying it from 5 Below doesnât count.
2) you CANNOT smudge. This isnât just you âshouldnâtââ this is a YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF SMUDGING. Waving a sage stick around your doorways IS NOT SMUDGING. It is smoke clensing. Smudging, depending on the tradition and tribe, could easily have dancing and drums involved. You, as a white person, do not have the cultural BACKGROUND to even know how it works. At all. Period.
3) please, for FUCKS SAKE, stop making posts here on tumblr where you tell other white people about cultural appropriation and what they can and cannot do. Please stop, your license has been revoked because none of you bother to get the facts right. We native people are FULLY CAPABLE OF DOING IT OURSELVES. Consider instead: a) reblogging our posts where we talk about it! Weâre here! We have made posts!! b) Making a post that states what we said and then LINKS BACK TO US. Screenshot with a link if you must. Stop centering your own voices in these conversations. You are already centered in everything, stop centering yourselves in a native space.
Iâm tired of this nonsense, yâall.
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk â˘
Goyim Witches, please reblog
Dear Goyim Witches,
Stop. Using. Hebrew. In. Your. Spells/Other Witchcraft.
Hebrew is the religious and cultural language of the Jewish people.
Stop. Using. The. Star. Of. David. In. Your. Spells/Witchcraft.
The Star of David is a cultural and in modern times, religious symbol of the Jewish people.
Stop. Attempting. To. Practice. Kabbalah.
You HAVE to be Jewish to practice Kabbalah. Kabbalah is 100% based off of Judaism/Jewish myscitism.
Stop. Dressing. As. A. Stereotypical. Witch.
Itâs not yours to reclaim. That stereotype of big curly, puffy hair, big noses, and pointed hat was created by antisemitic Medieval stereotypes of JEWS, not witches. They though that Judaism and Jews were sorcery and witchcraft which is why you have the Jew-codes witch look. We have suffered greatly for that stereotype because it comes FROM the belief of Judaism being a form of witchcraft (which is specifically why Iâm asking you guys to stop using Hebrew, Kabbalah, and the Star of David in your magic if you arenât Jewish)
Stop. âPrayingâ. To. Jewish. Angels/Spiritual Jewish. entities.
These entities are incredibly sacred, and again Judaism does not condone witchcraft, and has had a truamatic history of being compared or seen as witchcraft.
I donât know how me, and other Jews can make it easier for you to understand. The Jewish people have a traumatic history of being seen as witchcraft to the point all witches in old fairy tales were Jew-coded. Iâve made so many posts about this.
Jewish people are NOT okay with goyim witches doing any of this shit, especially since many of your antisemitic. You are being an utter culture vulture and are enabling and encouraging our oppression.
Idc whether you think what you are doing is âout of respectâ or that you think you are doing it with the âupmost care and delicacyâ WE DONT CARE. We want you to stop, no bargaining, no budging. Just, stop.
Judaism is a CULTURE, a culture that has been oppressed for being seen as witchcraft. Judaism is a people that have been oppressed for thousands of years due to our language, our symbols, our spiritual entities. You do not get to profit, spiritually, fianically, emotionally, etc. off our oppression.
I tagged this with many tags used by witches in hopes you guys see this and understand how harmful your actions are to one of the oldest oppressed groups out there.
And like I said, goyim witches please reblog.
Hi! I'm really interested in Dionysus and would love to know how to find out more about him! Primary sources, grimoires, and general resources are very welcome!! Thank you so much!!

A must read for all your Dionysus needs! Make sure to read the intro and notes in ur addition of the play to get all the knowledge!
- âFrogsâ Aristophanes
A comedy play but important! To fully understand Dionysus, you gotta know what the Greeks found silly about him and Aristophanes is always ur man for sweet sweet parodies

- âDionysus in â69â
A play from 1969! A modern retelling of the Bacchae! Look into it itâs great!
- âBirth of Tragedyâ Nietzsche and other philosophy works looking at the Dionysian
Great way to understand Dionysus is through the Dionysian archetype and comparison to the Apollon so Worth Reading anything like that

Bedridden witch: Worship edition
Sometimes as someone who is stuck in one spot, it can be hard to feel connected to your gods/goddesses/deities. However, itâs not as hard as you may think to find some solid methods! Please note that your deities understand your situation and donât expect you to suffer for them or consistently do things for them!
Burn candles or incense that remind you of them. If you are unable to do this, try an oil diffuser or room spray.
Use blankets, sheets, pillows, etc. that have colors you associate with them.
Make an online devotional blog or altar. I do this [X]
Chat with other people who work with them.Â
If your body is okay with it, eat foods that are sacred/connected to them.
Hang pictures or decorations that correspond with their sacred animals, plants, or what lessons or teachings they present to you.
Write devotional poetry, or make drawings for them.
Draw sigils for them and hang them on your walls, ceiling, or put under your mattress.
Find a stuffed animal that you feel captures their essence or reminds you of them, and hold it close when you need the support.
Research them/browse their tag on tumblr.
Keep stones and crystals you associate with them near you â on a bedside table or under your pillow.
Use astral travel or dream magic to connect with them.
Listen to music that makes you feel closer to them.
Watch shows or movies that remind you of them.
Pray to them, talk to them, write them a letter. Stay in communication with them, especially in times of need.
Meditate.
Drink something warm or cool that helps you connect with them.
Make a spell bottle/jar that you feel captures their essence. Charge during good days, use for connection and support during the not-so-good days.
Make emoji spells to feel more connected to them.
Expose yourself to natural light (or gentle artificial light) or complete darkness, depending on the deity.
Devote small, everyday tasks to them. (Example for the Greek + Roman pantheon.)
Read books about them, or that remind you of them/their values.
Make herb sachets for them, keep them under your pillow or hang on your wall.
Wear scented oils, perfumes, lotions, or pick a shampoo with a scent or ingredients that make you think of them.
@thewitchofthenorse also has a post on this here!
And here is a post about nature connection while bedridden, which is great for nature deities!
Again, please note that you donât need to do anything to be connected to your gods/goddesses/deities. They know and understand what you are going through, and are patient.Â
How do you know when a God has responded?
Letâs just say, when you know, you know.
I realize how vague and unhelpful this is, so Iâll list some common ways the Gods respond to people:
They appear in your dreams
You hear Their voice in your head
The elements around you respond when you pray to Them (i.e., the wind shifts, the candle rises or flickers, etc.)
Your mood changes abruptly
You feel Their touch
You feel another sensation come out of nowhere, such as a temperature change, or a feeling of a blanket on your shoulders when there is none
You constantly run into Their symbols (for example, suddenly the crows of Apollo are following you or being extra loud or something)
A circumstance in your life changes, or you run into serendipity at a much-needed time (proving that Theyâre watching over you)
You feel an irresistible gut feeling to do something, such as make an altar for Them, research Them, do a certain spell or the like
Gods responding is similar to spirit work or locating omens: when you know, you just know. Itâs very intuitive. But sometimes it takes Gods a while to respond.
Just know that the Gods will respond to you. Blessed be lovely ~Â ( ^ Ď ^ )
Easy Ways to Connect More Strongly with your Deities
Say Good Morning when you wake up, say Good Night before you fall asleep
Share your food with them. If youâve ever wanted some of your friendâs french fries, you know how they probably feel.Â
Donate to causes that fall under the jurisdiction of your deity. Are they a goddess for women? Donate to a womenâs shelter or Planned Parenthood. Is your deity a patron of the arts? Give to PBS or local theatres.
Cook a full meal in honor of your deity. Seriously. It sounds silly but you can definitely find a regional cookbook based on your pantheon to cook a full ass feast for them.
Write them letters or notes. Keep a little notebook of notes and letters to your deity. Did you see a cute cat that you think Frigga wouldâve liked? Maybe you saw a girlâs outfit that wouldâve made Aphrodite drool. Let them know, or give yourself a reminder to tell them about it later.
Change your phone background. Does your deity have a temple or built pantheon? Put that shit as your wallpaper! Did you find a picture that so perfectly captures the spirit of your deity? Make it your lock screen.
Make them a Mix Tape. You know, so you can belt out songs in their honor while making your way downtown. Faces pass. And youâre home bound.Â
DIY your Altar. Iâm not going to lie, Iâm not to altar type. However, it is a fantastically personalized space that you can do anything with. So donât let anyone stop you from knitting that mini statue of Hecate a scarf.Â
