Hey Sam, I was wondering what you thought of Ayurveda/Chinese Medicine/Integrative medicine? Ayurveda has been a major boon for me in my journey with depression, and I've talked to people who have had some truly life saving experiences with Chinese Medicine. I find Western allopathy's dismissal of traditional modalities disheartening. Equating a hippie waving a tuning fork with a skilled Ayurveda or TCM practitioner is to draw a false equivalence.

Okay. Can I steal “a hippie waving a tuning fork “?

I mean, that is a lovely turn of phrase. Oh, yeah I agree with you. I am a believer in Western Medicine. It saved my life. Three times. 

Here’s my opinion on Chinese Medicine and it’s the same for Ayurveda. It is real medicine along with some goofy folk remedies. Heck modern medicine isn’t too much different. 

There was a time when a physician touched a patient. Manipulated them, stitched them up, injected and lanced them, checked their vitals and administered medicine that they themselves prepared or ordered prepared. 

Now the physician is a remote figure. Their white coat is a special garment reserved for scientists. Oh, scientists and bakers. These days nurses and physical therapists touch the patient these days.

Sorry, went off on a rant there.
