A little idea for you: imagine Frank is so thoroughly stressed out from dealing with The Horrors, so desperate for some little happy sliver of their normal life, that he actually asks Barnaby to tell them a joke, any joke at all. Seeing how genuinely miserable and broken he is rn, the dog summons every ounce of humorous energy he has and tells the best jokes he can possibly think of, not stopping until he gets a genuine laugh from his friend

No but seriously, I love that idea. Frank so far seems to be the only one trying to keep tabs on his friends’ conditions after witnessing them go through something. I can’t imagine how much stress it’s all going to put on them if they don’t die or something (･_･; (Barnaby would be so taken aback. At a loss of what to do besides what he does best 😭)

I could see Barnaby making a crack about how Frank is “finally coming around to enjoying a proper comedian’s work” before realizing there’s an actual problem sitting in front of him. Because despite it all, Frank and Barnaby are friends.
