Zoom is accidentally so on point in their german translation when somebody leaves a meeting
“Name ist verlassen” which literally translates to “Name is left/lonely” and honestly aren’t we all?
“oh my god, it’s finally over!” i say, about a zoom class that i wasn’t paying attention to at all

So, the new semester ...
... Starts next week. I’m back in Germany and not amused with my University. I managed to get into 2 courses.
I also am still mourning my non-B2-french-level so I’m starting Italian. Obviously I handle breakups well 😂
ain’t that the rub

If you heard of writer’s block, get ready for reader’s block. You want to read. You have time. You know what to read; how have a pile of books ready to be read. You cannot sit still and focus enough to do so or you can’t even open the book.
My class isn’t where it should be. I did not receive any email. The secretary isn’t working on Wednesday afternoons and nobody else has information. I just opended the door to every bigger room here and there isn’t a trace of my prof, the approximately 100 people in that class or any person knowing what is going on.
The only positive thing is that I talked to more french people in the last half hour than in the last week.
I have arrived and did a lot of paperwork for the student housing, the language course and of course the university.
I somehow feel good (honestly who hasn’t dreamed of moving to France) and completely awful at the same time. The longer I am here, the more I seem to forget the language. People talk to me and I stare at them like a deer in headlights; my mind completely blank.
Even though it’s Monday my courses won’t start before tomorrow. And again I’m terrified and excited at the same time. Like butterflies in the stomach but they’re caught in a hurricane.
How come oh-I’ll-definitely-won’t-forget-it-when-I-put-it-here never is anywhere ???
Erasmus-semester confirmation
So I forgot to tell you that I got the confirmation for my semester abroad in France! The University sent it out on the 16th of December and the semester starts on the 20th of January! (Today ist January 9th btw.)
I’m so excited! And nervous! And a little panicky!
“Try to stay present. Try to be where you are. Don’t miss it.”
Why are People Not answering emails ? Why do they tell you-in person-that they’re going to send you something, they know is time-sensitive, to then ignore you ?!?
