This morning's bedhead is sponsored by voting. I want my kids to always know I have their backs; now and however long down the road. I want them to be who they're meant to be. Voting means putting trust in people who I think will give each and every person a chance to do just that. My vote goes to individuals who think each and every person matters. Not only do I believe black lives matter. Not only do I believe LGBTQ lives matter. Not only do I believe all persons of color matter. It's important to say it, show it, and let my kids understand that every person should be accepted for who they are. Remember the old adage, "Never judge a book by its cover"? Well, I took that to heart and I want my kids to do the same. We all look, talk, act different. I'm a 6'5 dork who's socially awkward and usually has a resting G(rumpy)-face. What does that say about me? Everyone knows I'm not perfect, but I at least want everyone to have the chance to be equally imperfect. The kids and I dove into our first game of #Bohnanza today and it was so much fun! Great mechanics of limited fields to build beans, while negotiating trades along the way. The kiddos and I played Splendor: Marvel for the first time today and it was such a good time. Super fun and easy to learn, but I got to see them plotting ahead to capture cards.
