:’‘‘‘‘‘‘)
More teeny tiny Javier. Boy just needed to regather his strenght to kick some Williamson ass.
based off silly unused lines from enter pursued by a memory i found in the files
not sure if he was telling javier that hes sick of him blabbing about johns character but hes the only other in this mission so anyway
javier keeping guard: who is that!?
arthur returning to camp: me you brainless god damn stupid fucking idiot
javier:
javier: ok! :) glad to have you back!
javier escuella - before the boat robbery in saint denis ☆
guarma wasnt that much of a dutch in shining armour moment for javier because he sounded frustrated with what dutch kept saying about next things on the boat back and i wish they kept this dialogue in the game so that it made obvious to people of javier being more aware how much of a scam everything is. instead of getting away he latched onto him harder because thats what he's known for the past 4 years. hes mentally isolated to some degree, nobody's comforting him about how nervous he is about dutch but dutch, that's one of the only times he softens in ch6, he still doesn't have faith in his plans because he knows they should be doing things differently and he brings it up too, he's lashing out on people (john's allies) seeming all jolly and good with their escape plans when he doesn't have any. he is the one who approaches arthur, abigail (before uncle interrupted, he was going straight to her) and charles on faith conversations, but he usually sits silent with john looking at him (cue dutch faith conversation) until john begins the conversation and fails at appealing to javier. i think javier's open hatred for john's family in rdr1 and ch6 tracks to me. and that conversation about "these people ain't your family... who are they" john is aware of javier's actual faith that he masks by telling everyone to lock in on loyalty but john communicates it terribly. "He went crazy. It was like the one thing he'd ever believed in turned out to be a fraud."
uuuhhm met this guy at the saloon might have a crush
its so fascinating reading about your writing process as someone who is not creatively minded, like i dont believe I've ever had an original thought lmao. The way that youre able to break it down in to several different plotlines and tangle all the interactions into one cohesive storyline while keeping all this emotional intricacy is so cool to me
i'm very glad to hear you enjoy it, as i also enjoy deconstructing it! besides dachshund things and fic lore, those are probably my favorite asks to receive = v=
I will caution you though that you must not be overestimating your "not creatively minded" mindset's propensity to hold you back and underestimating the literal decades of study i've put into creative writing. i have a degree in creative writing, i teach it, and i have been doing it very consistently for over thirty years. i've written millions of words over the course of my lifetime, finished more books and stories than most people read. it looks easy in the same way that seeing someone walk looks easy; it is, mechanically, incredibly difficult, but they've been doing it so long, they don't even think about the minutia. it is not an A, then B, then C... then Z task; it is an A, then Z task. this happens only through lots and lots and lots of practice.
and, not to belabor a cliche, but your creativity is kind of like a muscle. it is true that some people probably have a predisposition towards more fanciful thoughts and whimsy that brings about an easy to thinking of plot points or storylines or characters. but this is only a baseline; an untalented student who works hard will outperform a natural who does nothing to exercise the craft.
you can teach yourself how to be creative. find prompt lists, listen to music, study art, read not as a reader but as a writer. join a club, take a class or seminar, undertake a writing challenge. nanowrimo doesn't exist anymore but the framework for it does, and it's an incredible exercise to push you out of your comfort zone where growth happens. use a random word generator and set it to verbs, then write a story where a character does that verb. it'll suck, of course it will. but you will grow. and you'll do it again and again and again until you are strong and suddenly it doesn't suck anymore. write it badly. over and over and over. only then can you write it well.
do not compare your skills to me, or to any other artist to whom you attribute greatness. let your stars be guides, not goalposts. the only person against whom you should place a measure is yourself. are you better today than you were yesterday? then you have grown.
