There's an attitude I've been seeing more and more of where having any kind of artistic opinion that isn't praise is seen as some kind of faux pas designed to yuck people's yum or whatever, and while I understand the kneejerk response behind it I do have to wonder like. I hate to say it but I don't actually like transfem Ralsei very much. It sort of annoys me how fandom will aim to place "femboy" type characters into a cookie cutter binary transfem egg narrative, and insist on papering the walls with this or even making creator demands when it's not necessarily tonally consistent, or when other gender headcanons are just as if not more interesting.

Perhaps my opinions here are partially shaped by knowing some very happily non-girls with similar gender expression who are sick of people trying to apply this same logic to them in their real lives. Perhaps it's because it implies a sort of universality of normative binary gender expression. But I didn't like it when people acted similarly about the June Egbert thing, and it rubs me the wrong way a little here.

Not to say that both aren't examples of fine headcanons to have, and if canon goes that way then cool (although I hope not in an attempt to pander!). But it's the way that some people can get so aggressively insistent with their particular interpretation towards others. Like, remember back when June Egbert was first a thing and people were getting threats for saying "John" back when it was all an extracanonical Toblerone shitpost that didn't show up in the story or its postcanon at all?

Don't think we've got there with Ralsei yet but I'm like, ehhh.
