The White Baby Ear is a member of the Moon Snail Family . This Mollusk feeds on other mollusks , especially small clams. The snail that’s inside of this shell is actually bigger than it’s flattened shell , the animal that’s inside is not capable of completely withdrawing into it . The animal spends most of its time burrowed in the sandy bottom when fully expanded and it’s body completely envelops the shell . This shell produces slimy mucus .. it’s very RARE to find on that’s occupied and of this size .. this one is large .
