ever wanted to see the evolution of a dnd design over several years and many dumb decisions? here you go

all pictures are labeled in the captions with a tiny explanation, but in general, dhatha started out as a clean-cut bodyguard, pacted w/dendar the night serpent, then reverse-engineered one of her rituals to gain even more power from her (and piss her off), pacted with a green dragon to save his party, briefly got cursed to be a dragonborn for a day, and then finally broke off both pacts and gained a new, much nicer patron that hands out dreams instead of nightmares

What a trip. The only art I have before 2015 is mostly edits and manipulations, not enough to display any improvement in talent, but from then on, I’m absolutely floored by how far I’ve come in five years. Not only in art skill, but in practice with composition, color, design, and speed. 

This is a tiny variation on AsterianMonarch’s template on DeviantArt because I wanted to showcase a few more years, like I was seeing on some other art blogs roundabout here.

Here’s to another year of OCs, distant roleplay AUs, fiery sparks, pretend lineart and bioluminescence. And hopefully a lot more.

I use ClipStudio Paint, but tbh I don’t put too much stock into one program over the other (people get good n used to what they get good n used to!) i rlly like CSP now but these brushes were actually my way of cobbling together smth similar to my faves from when my muscle memory used to be Medibang for sketchin i just use the default Pencil + blocking out the color with the Marker Pen (that i slapped a super janky aliasy square tip on) then I outline and define a lot with the default Smooth brush (Medibang Sumi) blending with Flashito & Kamomi (Paint) ((kinda Medibang Flat & Round brushes)) <3
