I think is the last or one of the last things I'm gonna post about the situation in my country here. This blog was created for escapism and to forget reality a little, but I also feel the need to speak about what's happening. I wanna educate people, I want my voice to be heard.
PLEASE LISTEN TO VENEZUELANS! LISTEN TO THEM, RIGHT NOW MORE THAN EVER.
Yes, we know an invasion from the USA is bad. We KNOW, we aren't stupid nor 2 IQ monkeys.
Instead of treating us like we don't know our own situation, why don't you try and think hey, if almost every single Venezuelan supports this invasion despite being BAD that does say how fucking DESPERATE THEY ARE.
It's been almost 30 years. 3 decades under dictadure. 3 decades under Chavismo's grasp. Years of seeing my people die trying to fight for our country. So many kids, so many teens, so many people just dying, getting arrested for being against the government, protests that ended with innocents getting gassed just because they want to fight for a better life, where food is not scarce, where we have medicine, water, electricity. Basic human shit.
Yeah. We understand how scary it is that USA can just pull a ruler from a country like that. We know that we don't know what comes next. Yet Maduro being gone is still something GOOD. Is the first step to getting rid of all of these parasites that left our land in fucking misery. Not our fault that a pedophile was the one who helped us with that. We can hate Trump, we can be scared about the uncertainty. WE CAN STILL BE HAPPY THAT MADURO IS FUCKING GONE. THESE FEELINGS CAN MUTUALLY EXIST, THESE FEELINGS ARE NOT EXCLUSIONARY TO EACHOTHER.
"USA only wants your oil!" OK?? LIKE, IF THEY GET RID OF THIS FUCKING DICTATORSHIP THEY CAN TAKE AS MUCH OIL AS THEY PLEASE. ASK ANY VENEZUELAN —REAL VENEZUELANS— IF THEY CARE. We do NOT care about that, Maduro was giving the oil away, we never saw a fucking benefit from it anyways so USA taking it would make no difference. Do you think we think USA did this out of the goodness of their hearts? With no ulterior motives? Come on.
Also, like Russia and China was an ally to Maduro for the recipe of arepas, of course we know people are after our oil. We don't care. We have bigger issues. We have bigger losses. Bigger pain. That is a price we would pay with our eyes closed.
We're just tired. We're so tired. I am so tired. Sorry if I come as aggressive in this post but seeing so many ignorant people talking about my country on the internet as if they HAVE ANY IDEA of what's going on here it's just... Tiring. Be happy for us at least once. Help us spread our voices. You have no idea how infuriating is seeing the news on other countries calling Maduro "president" when he's not. He's a dictator whose caused so much death, so much pain, so much hunger to our people.
I could go on but I won't. Just... Please listen to us. This is a more nuanced situation than you might think. Someone being happy that Maduro is gone doesn't mean that they support Trump. In this world this shit is Grey, in an ideal place we would choose for good but right now we have to be happy with the lesser of two evils.
