The USS Trekcord is going open-invite!

As of literally right now, we’re allowing up to 50 new crew members aboard the USS Trekcord. Come grab a spot, first come first serve!

This server focuses on TOS, AOS, and Discovery and welcomes discussion of fan content, shipping, as well as new Trek content. The main portion of the server is SFW [and you’ll need to be 18+ to request a special role to access our NSFW channels].

Once you’re on board, you’ll be able to participate in all kinds of fandom discussion, join in on our spur-of-the-moment movie nights and maybe even hop on our Comm channels to goof off with other crewmen.

So, whether you’re a fandom creator or avid fic reader, cosplayer or memer, or you just love Star Trek, there’s a place for you here somewhere.

Hey fellow Trekkies!

After a bit of a personal hiatus and a quiet few months, the server seems to be picking up again!

Over the next few weeks, the mods will be doing some house cleaning. Once this is complete, we will be opening the server to new crew members. Crew registration will be on a first come, first served basis and once the ship hits maximum capacity, we will be opening a wait list.

The server is welcoming to discussion of all Trek canon and ships, but has a primary focus on TOS, AOS, and just recently, Discovery.

It is SFW, all inclusive, highly organized, and has a no tolerance policy for those who willfully break the server rules.

[Clarification: the main server is SFW. We do have a NSFW section that requires a specific role to enter.]

 As a member of the crew, you’ll be able to assign yourself a role aboard the ship, talk about your favorite Trek-related topics in their respective channels, and participate in semi-regularly scheduled movie/episode nights. There will also be a book club for members who want to read Star Trek comics and novelizations together. 

We’d love to have you, so please keep an eye out here for when we open the ship up to new crew!

The third Star Trek Secret Santa Gift Exchange is happening soon!

Q: What is the Star Trek Secret Santa Gift Exchange (STSSGE)?

A: The STSSGE is an anonymous fanworks exchange for the Star Trek universe. Eligible fandoms include The Original Series, The Animated Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, The Alternate Original Series/Reboot Series, and Discovery!

Q: How does it work?

A: When you sign up, you’ll make three requests. They can be from any of the Star Trek fandoms, or even a crossover! Do try to keep the requests simple and not too specific (ex: Chapel/Uhura fluff, Julian Bashir and Kukalaka, a crew in the mirrorverse, etc). If you’re requesting characters in TOS/AOS, specify which universe you’d like them to be from.

Once sign ups close, I’ll send you the url of the person you’ll make a fanwork for and their requests. You’ll have December to fill one of the requests. Since it’s an anonymous exchange, make sure to ask any questions to your recipient on anon, or you can contact me and I’ll relay the question to them. Make sure your ask box is open so I or your Secret Santa can contact you!

Q: What is a pinch hitter?

A: If someone needs to drop out of the exchange for whatever reason, pinch hitters will be asked to make an extra fanwork. If you need to drop out or are going to be late with your gift, please let me know ASAP. If you do not make a gift without informing me that you are dropping out, you will not be allowed to participate in next year’s exchange. NOTE: Different from previous years, if you are a pinch hitter, you are not guaranteed an additional gift. While I will attempt to create gifts for pinch hitters, I can’t guarantee that my schedule will allow it. Know that I appreciate you immensely, regardless. 

Q: Do I have to make fanart for the exchange?

A: Nope! All types of fanworks are welcome :) 

Q: Is the exchange Christmas themed?

A: Nope! The gifts don’t have to be focused on any holiday at all if you don’t want it to be.

Q: What are the important dates I should know?

A: November 30, 11:59 pm EST: signups close

December 1-2: I’ll let you know who your recipient is

December 21-31: Begin posting your gifts! I’ll make a post later with details.

The T’hy’la Bang is back! This all-inclusive Kirk/Spock fic + art challenge is now open for registration. 

This round will be casual, with fewer requirements than previous rounds, no art claims, and an open posting period in January. Complete rules are linked below, but here are the basics: 

Write, make art, or both!

Authors will write a minimum of 2k

Artists will complete at least one piece of art

All Trek universes are welcome, as well as crossovers and fusions

Create as many pieces as you like

Collaborate on your own terms (we will not hold claims this round)

Fellow Trekkies! Join us for a Star Trek Bingo fan challenge!

Starting this November, join us for a tv series and fanwork inclusive challenge!

How it works:

You will receive a personal, randomized 5x5 BINGO card after sign ups. During sign up, you will pick five relationships and/or characters which will serve as the B-I-N-G-O at the top of the card. The spaces will have tropes/AUs/prompts, with a “free space” in the center.

Your goal is to “fill” spaces by creating a fanwork using the relationship/character and prompt. This must be a new, previously unpublished fanwork which primarily focuses on the relationship/character and prompt for that square. These fanworks can be art, fic, playlists, edits, videos, etc! Fill enough squares in any line combination to declare a bingo! We’ve decided to keep this as friendly as possible and have opted out of utilizing a point/scoring system of any kind. Simply have fun and enjoy the challenge of the event!

As you create your fanworks, remember you are not competing against fellow fanwork creators, but challenging yourself. You decide how much or how little you want to achieve. You can only finish five small fanworks over the span of the event? That’s totally fine! Want to do more than that? Have at it! It’s entirely up to you.

We encourage you to challenge yourself: Be creative with your pairings! Try a prompt or trope that you’ve never written before! Step outside of your comfort zone a bit. And most of all, have fun!
