My body is a house that is haunted by the specters of past injury.

The body remembers. It remembers the way the ice felt beneath my feet as reality slipped away from me. It remembers the way my hips felt a week after back surgery. My body remembers the way my arm felt when my nerves were tested and prodded. It remembers and these memory manifests as pain.

But I can not sell or discard this haunted house of flesh and bone. Instead I must learn to live among my ghosts and find the will to push through them.

sonce the sports are happening big rn where i live i made a handy chart of all the phrases i use to communicate with my loved ones during these trying times. i thought others might find it useful too
