I laugh at this damn horse every time I see it lurking in the background. (I think it is also in one of the surgery rooms sometimes, or one very similar.)

Because I * know * Breyer horses would be an anachronism (not til 1950) and it is in all likelihood porcelain and closer to the 40s.

But it is so Bryer-coded to me and all I can think of sometimes is Siegfried coming home every now and again with another fucking Breyer that he just puts randomly somewhere in the house with no rhyme or reason and Mrs. Hall just groans at another tchotcke that needs dusting.

Ope, look what arrived today.

Beswick got into animal stuff in the 1930s. The stamp on mine dates this particular figure somewhere between 1948-1954, but I don't know if the mold & overall run is older.

There's a few 50s era things here and there in the Skeldale House set, but they fit the pre-war vibe, so if it is a slight anachronism, it's fine and still well-researched. 😁

I think without a doubt Carmody would love Talking Heads.
