would you be up to analyze a Page of Heart? apologies if ive misread or misinterpreted something.

The Page is the passive equivalent of the Knight class. It builds power throughout the session, beginning with the worst parts of the aspect and slowly learning and inspiring all of it within its surroundings. Their quest is to increase the aspect throughout the session. They do this naturally but they never do it fast enough. They have to push themselves beyond their comfort zone and, once they do, they become one of the most powerful classes on the board.

The Heart aspect is involved with identity. A Page of Heart might have difficulty with accepting his own identities as first, grappling with essential parts of themselves. They might ignore other people and act self-obsessed, initially having no filter. Throughout the session, as people are repelled, the Page of Heart will learn to accept their own identities (who are made physical manifest through SBURB), and will gradually inspire the growth of Heart, pushing everyone towards their goal in an explosion of true change after the lowest point of session stagnation.

Time has been the ONLY aspect I have never once identified with, and my classpect has changed practically every other week for the past however many years. Since SBURB is supposed to challenge a person, is it possible that Time may in fact be the answer? Or is it not as drastic as that?

I think you might want to explore the aspects of Time that you find strange or even repellant, as part of your journey might involve coming to terms with the truth that it (as well as every aspect) is an important part of your being. Explore the classes of Prince, Bard, and Page as you think about it.

The Thief of Doom has a tendency to catastrophize and to facilitate other’s growth at their own expense. The Mage of Life can absolutely help with this, bringing them up and helping them enjoy the small things in life and to live in the now. The Mage of Life’s low moments, however, can be extreme, and they can be reckless during periods of insecurity or anxiety. The Thief of Doom needs to be able to communicate with them during this time and can help bring them back to earth.

Could you analyze a matespritship between a Maid of Light and a Mage of Mind

This should be a great relationship for creativity! You’ll inspire each other every day, and will never be bored. You have to be careful that your projects and intellectual needs do not eclipse fulfilling your emotional needs, even if it’s difficult not to get carried away. With two active classes, it’ll be important that you learn how and when to compromise.

A Distinction Between Doom and Mind

Another hot take from me, mostly concerning the distinctions between the Aspect of Mind and the Aspect of Doom.

We’ve seen a bit of a parallel between these two Aspects in the canon, and that mainly comes from the ideas of karma and retribution. I want to explain the main distinction between these aspects in this regard, as I feel as though their connections to the ideas of karma are describing different principles.

Could you possibly tell me the differences, and similarities between a witch of heart, and a prince of heart?

The Witch of Heart is a manipulation class, different from the Heir inasmuch as it manipulates how the aspect exists fundamentally in your session. As Jade opened a portal to a space between sessions and fused with the first guardian with extreme spatial powers, so too will the Witch of Heart change their aspect.

The Prince of Heart, on the other hand, destroys and is in turn destroyed by their aspect. Because there is a surplus of Heart in their session, they are tasked with pruning the excess. This player is forced to come to terms with the fact that the aspect which they have scorned and avoided all their lives is, in fact, essential and worthy.

Hello! I'm currently about to run a SBURB session with friends. I've figured out a bunch of stuff from powers to quests, and for the most part everything is ready. I just came upon this tumblr today, so I wanted to get your opinion on a classpect and land that I'm a little dubious of: Knight of Mind, Land of Mist and Iron

The Land of Mist and Iron will need to serve in two ways, which you could build your quest around: putting the Knight of Mind’s flaws/insecurities under pressure, and representing a microcosm of the greater lack of any controlled aspect in their session.

Could you possibly do a quest for a Page of Mind in the land of Shelves and Drizzles?

The RestorationThe Book of Faces, a massive tome of the branching lives of every single inhabitant of the Land of Shelves and Drizzles has been destroyed by water damage in the Great Flooding caused by your denizen, Varuna. The Page of Mind must painstakingly restore these pages by traveling across the Land and speaking to each consort, both alive and dead.

The LedgesThe overworld of the living contains several bustling cities inlaid into the floating stone mountains, living consorts thrive here. This is the first stop of your Quest and the easiest.

Cryptworn CavernsUnderneath the surface of the ocean that covers the Land lies the Caverns, filled with shades and forgotten pieces of those dying and not-yet-dead. Here is the place where souls drip from the ceiling and sink into the floor on their way to a better life, but oh! what stories they could tell!

The BelowFinally, the Page reaches The Below, after unlocking the three underground gates wrought of bone with sacred Phrase keys. Here lies the dead, and all the ghosts they carry with them. Your Quest Bed also is located here.

hey I'm not sure if you're doing session analyses rn but if you are! how about my edgy group with Rogue of Space, Maid of Blood, Sylph of Time, Thief of Rage, Prince of Heart, and Page of Doom?

Having two passive classes in your Space and Time slots means that they’re gonna need a little pushing from your active Thief of Rage and Prince of Heart to begin actively pursuing their session goals/jobs. 

Make sure your Thief of Rage keeps from projecting the concentrated Rage that they collect throughout the session (both figurative and literal) outwards onto their fellow players because you have no Hope player to try and counteract that, though the Maid may be able to help. They will become a great impetus for session advancement but they must not rush the session.

Prince of Heart will need to learn to have a healthy relationship with their fragments- which will be difficult to do especially around the other players. They may become self-conscious of their fragments which is another obstacle to overcome.

The Page of Doom could either be a ticking time bomb or a great boon depending on how they deal with the Aspect explosion/epiphany that they will experience halfway through the session. As long as they interact with their fellow players in a positive supportive manner everything should be fine- but woe betide any session mates that find themselves in a session with a Page of Doom that has no idea how to control how the systems and decay of their Aspect manifest

Starting out with very little Blood in the session becomes a huge problem when things need to move quickly to make any progress, which means the Maid must begin accessing and creating their aspect immediately
