( monica barbaro, thirty-five, cisgender woman, she/her ) ☆ all the way from SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA, supernova records is excited to welcome TRINITY 'TRIN'HERNANDEZ! as our resident HEAD STAGE MANAGER, you remind us of double-fisting black coffees in nondescript to go cups, an internal clock that never stops ticking, clinking beers under the stars after a show well-done. you’re also expected to be DEPENDABLE and ETHICAL at all times. we know you tend to be PESSIMISTIC and UNFRIENDLY as well, but let’s do our best to keep that under wraps, okay? we look forward to ensuring you shine under our guidance!
basic background & info !
trinity's mother had wanted to be a stage actress and had never succeeded, so she'd spent most of trin's childhood carting her to commercials and background rows on tv. trinity hated every second of it until she was finally able to dig her heels in about not wanting to do it anymore by the time she was twelve.
just a few years later, when she was sixteen, trinity's baby brother, mateo, was born, upon which he immediately became an infant model for their local mall. trin felt distant, replaced, angry at her mother's ambitions and her father's lack of investment in helping or hindering it, and worried for mateo.
over the next decade, trinity floated in and out of jobs, education paths, life decisions. she moved in and out of the city and back in with her family on and off again she struggled to find, well, anything she was passionate about. slowly, her brother's career was built until his eventual discovery and virality as a tween pop sensation at the age of only twelve — exactly the age when trin had quit.
(think somewhere between peak baby justin bieber and jojo siwa, like super famous but 100% marketed to kids/tweens. if you've ever seen the other two, it's giving chase dreams)
due to her lack of a steady job history and a desire to look out for her brother, trinity started training as a stage hand on his tours, eventually working up to being his stage manager, as well as assisting at several smaller scale music festivals. with mateo taking the next two years off touring to work on his next album, she's taken an even bigger role on the supernova tour... basically due to nepotism string pulling, which she's more than a little ashamed of.
she lives a pretty boring, basic life. refuses to settle down. most of her emotional energy is still focuses on her family, and she's still holding onto that pre-existing resentment. she doesn't really like to talk about who she's related to, but it's fairly easy to figure out.
personality !
despite a serious hate for the industry and all its politics, corruptions and inner workings (and the fact that she doesn't really care about or like music all that much), trin takes her job seriously and cares about artist well-being. safety checks are her middle name.
can be blunt, prickly, abrasive, rude, honest... pick your poison based on how she's talking to you. very direct, but not cruel. the type of person to tell you you're stupid and should know better after you hurt yourself while dressing your wound for you.
doesn't 'do' relationships, barely does friendships. a great person to work/collaborate with, but extremely difficult to get close to.
if you need something done, ask trin. problem with the pyrotechnics? need brighter lights? venue needs to change the seating arrangement? lunch catering never arrived and yemi not responding? call trin. she's going to handle it, with one of three cell phones in her hand and her own elbow grease and tool-box down on the tour floor.
however, doesn't care bout your emotional problems and won't pretend to. doesn't really like problems that she can't solve, and thinks that this entire thing is destructive to artist mental health and doesn't want to make things worse.
still, trinity is a major team player and is very communicative with her stage crew, the other managers on tour. and the bands + artists.
doesn't really listen to music, has never mentioned watching movies or tv, and has never been seen reading a book. there are rumours from other stage building staff that she just goes home and stares at a wall after work. trin would deny this if she listened to gossip.
extremely buttoned up and doesn't like to talk about what she likes, how she feels, what she thinks unless it's fairly neutral. she can come across as bored or disaffected, but really she's just dissatisfied and unsure how to unpack any of her emotions
list of things she does actually do/like but no one knows about her because she won't even publicize her middle name or her favorite foods: to relax, trinity likes to do bob ross painting tutorials she finds on youtube. she is a huge fan of nfl football and follows the rams, and does not see the hypocrisy that is supporting the nfl while criticizing the music industry. while too lazy to cook and living off takeout, when given the time trin is an excellent chef and has mastered almost all her grandma's recipes.
trinity speaks fluent spanish, but pretends not to so supernova doesn't expect her to do any translation duties.
what trinity thinks is being principled, many people might say she's a narc or a snitch. she's very by the book, is not going to put her ass on the line for just anyone, and overall is a pretty bad combination of both cautious and judgmental. she's gonna tell supernova HR about alllll your situationships, and then they're gonna tell PR and you're gonna have to hard launch. think about it.
tl;dr: boring stick in the mud older sister to a teen pop sensation your 12 year old niece loves is the one responsible for making sure you don't fall into a hole like olivia rodrigo at that one show, and that the audience can hear you and that your stage is even set up for any of that to happen in the first place. hates the industry. takes herself and you too seriously. good for a pint or putting out whatever fire you started, and not much else. also, she'll get a drink with you and put out your fire right before she rats to olivia rose yang and yemi.
