**IMPORTANT PLEASE READ**

So incase you didn’t know, survivors of abuse from the ‘olympic gymnast doctor’ have been giving statements for over 5 days and the man is due to be sentenced today (Jan 24). 88 statements were due and this has increased to over 150 as these women inspire their follow survivors to come forward and face the man who abused them.

This young woman in the video above, Emma Miller, is only 15 and gave the most eloquent statement and is wise past her years. This moved me so so so much, as have all the statements as I’ve been watching all of them that I can to support these women.

This ‘sex abuse scandal’ needs to be bigger news than it is. There are far too many people who let this happen for OVER 20 YEARS because ‘responsible adults’ refused to listen and believe. They are getting away with this, being allowed to just retire and not face the consequences they deserve. With only the amount of women who have come forward this is the worse crime of its kind recorded in America, let alone those who have not come forward.

A coach who enabled abuse by this doctor at his gym for years is being allowed to retire after being suspended after many survivors have called him out. One even telling how she fell and broke her neck in 4 places and was made to get up and carry on practice, and was lucky to not be paralysed. 

Please spread this news. Because it is not about men or about football no one seems to care. Hardly anyone is talking about it. It deserve to be on the front page, globally.

These woman are the STRONGEST people I have encountered and some of them are the world class gymnasts I have looked up to for so many years, without knowing the pain they were facing. 

There needs to be chance in sport and how we teach children about situations like this. We need to have change to PROTECT them for once.

Please share this and if you have time please listen to Emma Ann Miller speak and you will be blown away by how well spoken she is, but also but how disturbing this situation is. EVERYONE needs to know about this and to help bring everyone to justice.

Larisa was a favourite for the All Around title and will be sorely missed by the gymnastics community for the remainder of the championships. Larisa deserved better than this… (x)

What upsets me most is that she would have trained an overwhelmingly large proportion of her life and then SOMETHING not quite as obvious as age or completeness of career or injury made her stop. That something must have been pretty damn convincing to outweigh all that training, dedication, and potential and all the dreams she must’ve had.
