"Obstacle Eyes" by Morgan Delt // Morgan Delt (Out 1.28.14 via Trouble in Mind Records)

Los Angeles based psych-pop artist, Morgan Delt, hasn’t been around for very long, but you would never know it by listening to his music. Assured and lived in, “Obstacle Eyes” (from his forthcoming self titled debut) sways between nuggets-era psychedelia and modern day lo-fi bedroom pop. The soft, hazy melody flows throughout the shimmering guitars and layers of reverbed effects that give everything a dreamy, hallucinogenic glow. It’s a killer track that should easily find a home with fans of Ariel Pink, The Flaming Lips, and The 13th Floor Elevators.

The Flaming Lips- Lucy in the sky with Diamonds (Cover)

Usually I would not approve of a cover of this classic song, but The Flaming Lips are able to get away with this one. Still not completely in love but it is definitely not bad.
