Why is it so hard to believe when people show you they don't care about you? If they throw jabs, every single time, you try to bring up how what they did made you feel, it's because they don't care how you feel. If they say they can't consider your feelings because their "brain just doesn't work that way", it means they do not care enough to even think about you. But yet, when the roles are reversed, it's the end of the world because you hurt their feelings? That person is not your friend.

I had one of those dreams

A universal one stemming from our beginnings like snakes on trees and seed sounds in didgeridoos

It was a forbidden fruit, a delicious apple of secret mystery

So my subconscious began an ode to it in a poem

My waking consciousness—Recognizing the mystery unveiling

entered the dream like a bear coming out of hibernating

& attempted to memorize the poem

Yet, I woke

With the faint imagery of naked fire and lutes

But no universal truth

How disappointing…

My conscious couldn’t carry the mystery to waking
