Dia swallowed, giving a little nod to his long time friend at their congratulations on his owning a zoo and getting kids “Thank you.” Though he had remembered at one point, long ago. Wishing for his own children to know Tristian’s. Thinking back on on it now was quite sad however, considering how things turned out. Though he also felt due to the way the other had been raised would have effected his tiny little wish. Dia sighs a bit and looks to one side at the others next question to him “No. Rosaline and I were at home taking care of the newborns at the time. They were very fussy that evening I remember.”
At the others saying if there was anything that he had needed he nodded “As you.” He commented, knowing he could be just as helpful for Tristian, even if it was just to let the other talk out some stresses they might be going through. Not that he thought that the other was stressed or anything at that moment. He looked to one side when Tristian rubbed his own neck and listened to his friend talk of his sister “Oh? Huh. Is that so. Great. Eleven minutes, wow.” He didn’t think it was all so important but if that’s what his friend wished to talk about he was all ears “ I was born two years before my brothers. I think I have you both beat on time.”
With a smile he continued to watch Tristian for a moment longer, noticing they were still wearing the ring from the secret ceremony with Olivera. It told him that Tristian had not moved on. Probably, he imagined, the other never would. Sometimes one could not. He didn’t imagine he would if Rosaline had ever left him or, god forbid, died. Shaking away the thought he continued walking with Tristian and listened to their next question “She is a stay at home mother now. With all the chaos it was either I be stuck with the children for weeks on end, whilst she does her paleontology work. Or she stay home and help me with the children.” It was an hard thing to watch, his poor wife give up such a dream job. But this was for the best for the children.
Though he wasn’t keen on letting her throw her schooling away that easily, Rosaline had seemed to not so much mind once she got into the hang of things. Sometimes she would comment, as the children got older, taking up a job at the local university, once she got more free time on her hands. Dia blinks at Tristian then says “Oh. Yes. The kids would love to meet you. My eldest sometimes brought you up when she would remember you.” Dia commented, his eldest child having been born definitely at a time they were still all hanging out.
“You have always been a great friend, Dia.” He stated as he patted his friend’s shoulder. There wasn’t a time that he could remember that Dia wasn’t there when he needed him the most. They went through a lot together, which only made him feel slightly guilty about letting a gap fill between them as they grew up. Maybe, however, it is for the best - Tristian got deeply intertwined in a mafia, and what kind of friend would he be if he dragged Dia down with him? No matter what, this was going to be his life because there is nothing he wouldn’t do to protect his sister. “Yeah, you do.” He said through a light laugh. “How is your family?”
Walking in silence, he listened to his friend and couldn’t help but to think of ways to help both Dia and Rosaline. The couple deserves so much, and he owes them a lot that maybe he could help with Rosaline becoming a paleontologist, while Dia still has helped with the children. Though he didn’t want to medal too much in their already made lives either. Perhaps this is something he could talk over with Elaine. After all, two heads are better than one -- especially when they are twins.
“Well, let’s set it up. I know we could all use a good family dinner.” He said. “You haven’t changed your number, have you?”
