okay this is something i needed to hear today so i’m making sure everybody on my dash hears it

you don’t have to write your canon character exactly as they are canonically portrayed.

you don’t have to hear their voice in the dialogue you’re writing.

you don’t have to know what’s going on inside their head all the time.

you don’t have to know what they would say in every situation.

DON’T  compare yourself to canon because canon is the foundation of a character, and the whole point of writing is to develop your own take on a character. nobody writes a canon character perfectly, and nobody writes them the exact same.

please understand that canon is just putty for you to work with, and that it’s so much more fun to just write your portrayal the way that you want to.

i think we’ve established by now that i think ur heckin wonderful. honest to god, i’ve been following you for what feels like twelve thousand and one years and it has taken us up until late last year to actually start talking and … who’d have thought we’d get on quite this well?! at this point, i’m convinced that we’re the same person. our personalities compliment one another so well and i’m so happy to have found a really close friend in you!!! i hate the difference in timezones (damn you for living in australia binch!) but when we do talk, i always enjoy our conversations! i love how we can just talk about a load of random shit and it never gets boring. i love how non-judgemental you are and how we can just vent about shit without feeling bad about it! i also ADORE how you write and i love how you bring all of your muses to life. at this point, i’m convinced that you’re actually siobhan sadler. you understand her as a character and you breathe life into her. you managed to make my love for maria doyle kennedy resurface too and for that i’m verryyyyy grateful. i love that bitch!

how is that possible? siobhan would like to know that one herself.   ❝   it’s irish, love. or at least this is what’ll sound like in 1978 i’m not sure if you’re used to a different sound.   ❞   though it wouldn’t quite matter, even when she was from there were so many accents in ireland you could be from derry and not have any blinking idea what some geezer from dublin was blabberin on about. though to the outside she was sure they all sure enough sounded the same. distracted momentarily as the blonde puts her hands on her, an unfamiliar hitch in her breath she can’t quite explain. siobhan smiles at the offer despite her disappointment at not being offered an immediate solution. she’d find one on her own soon enough anyway and who knows? maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad thing to see the history of their kind up close. smirk finding her features, siobhan raises an eyebrow at her last statement, a sway in her hips as she moves closer to the other woman -- only teasing... for the most part.   ❝   and while i’d not be opposed to undressing for you, love, i think it’s only proper you tell me your name first   ❞

       “ You don’t seem to really enjoy it.” Strong arms come to cross over rather flat chest, but mischief could be read in her look as she glanced at the stranger. “ Art can be hard sometimes to decipher.” It’s very abstract, it’s not a very popular kind of painting either, rather simplistic as well. But… Bette likes it.

   “   I suppose it’s just not quite my cup of tea.  ”   Siobhan replied with a soft chuckle as she looked back at Bette.  It wasn’t that she couldn’t appreciate abstract art,  she’d introduced Felix to a lot of his influences after all but it was just that this piece seemed...  a bit basic, she supposed.  Not quite as impressive as she was expecting for a show like this.
