I'm not saying that Rhys definitely meddled with or created Nesta and Cassian’s mating bond… but if he did, the signs might be sitting in plain sight.

It's worth noting that the only characters in the Maasverse who describe the feeling of the mating bond as a 'thread' are the Archeron sisters and Lucien (in relation to Elain).

Otherwise, 'thread' is used in a different context, referring to fate/life or the blood oath.

Azriel is such a “i’d give up forever to touch you” kinda guy and I’ll die on this hill. A guy who, despite intense feelings of worthlessness, despite calling his hand on her skin a SACRILEGE, despite all ODDS, wanted to risk touching her.

Bro literally gave off “Idgaf about my religion. She is my religion” vibes, wanted to WORSHIP her on his knees, and we’re gonna pretend she’s not his entire world?

Baby Azriel asking his shadows for a safe place to stay and them leading him directly to where Rhys and Cassian are staying. The future spymaster following them every single day from then on, seeking leftover food and shelter and it taking even the Lady of Night a few days to catch him, following which she takes him in.

This making him feel even more of an outsider in the long run because unlike Cassian who was offered a place, he pretty much forced his way in.
