we talked about this a thousand times but really and genuinely, likening erik to a white bull terrier is the best thing that happened to kcd since the moment istvan took a tumble out of that window. it's just PERFECT. it's the combo of the aggressive posture and the deep-set eyes and the... kissable forehead... and the Pinkness of the puppy. the pinkness especially...

and because i ultimately do not believe that the Vranik shed torture&speech combo (even arse slap enhanced) would be enough on their own to convince Henry to switch sides, i am Killing His Friends and Deepening the class divide between Henry + Capon and Radzig to make it happen. easy peasy.

we're taking the Worst Case Scenario for all things (Fritz and Matthew swing, Johanka dies after the punishment, Matthias succumbs to his sickness) and we're making Henry very lonely. very estranged. and Capon (and by extension Radzig) pathologically unable to properly relate and help. we're making Henry unable to even talk to Theresa: all he does is miss the monastery (and Vranik!) and hate himself for it, and get too in his head about All The Killing that he's done, and all the urges that he's feeling...

because at the end of the day, when everyone turns from him (or rather: his friends die because he wasn't able to save them, and it's all like Skalitz again, and the rest of people close to him he scares away) there's... Someone left.

there's that horrible, horrid, unforgivable pair. all that killing isn't a burden when you're with them. the urges, you know, are encouraged, not shunned. there's no shame. there's no divide: erik only calls istvan sir when they have watchful eyes on them - or when they fuck.

they offered you everything and you refused... unless you didn't. perhaps you didn't refuse?

perhaps after vranik... after talmberg... you decided to take that offer...

Im prepared for a wave of hatred when I say this. In fanfics I don’t care about any character that isn’t in the game. Some fics have full chapters with characters that are from actual Czech history, random created npcs… the most notable example is fics with Jitka of Kunštát. I don’t care that she and some mercenary or made up npcs are talking about anything together. I only care about the plot when it’s with characters I know. That’s why I read fanfiction and not buy a book. That’s not to say the fics are bad themselves. Usually fics that go the extra mile with research and thoughtful dialogues are the best in fact. I’m not criticizing the fics or the people behind them at all. It just annoys me to have to skip sometimes full chapters dedicated to characters I don’t know and don’t care about, because when I read fanfic I want characters I know and love. Or even hate. Hell make full chapters about Hanush being his loud, annoying self, and making Hans’s life hell and I’ll be happy. Because I know these characters and I’m invested. I’m also curious to see if anyone thinks similarly.
