Old people, too. My elderly neighbors are frothing at the mouth for a backlash to the Trump administration. Not all of them are able to attend events in person. But I just saw this post on Facebook for the group "Grandmas Defending Democracy."

Many of the direct actions I have witnessed were organized and enacted by grandparents. Many old people are your allies. Include them in your activism!!

I volunteer as a citizen scientist and almost all our most active users are either a) middle-aged professionals b) old retirees or c) the young, passionate, often neurodivergent adopted mentees of an a/b.

I'm category c, though in my case my mentor was a grad student who was simply pleased to find another person willing to get deeply invested in tiny uncharismatic desert plants.

social bonds keep volunteer groups afloat. if you're young and/or new to a cause/group, I suggest finding some older person to "adopt" you. show them you're eager and attentive and respectful and they'll be fighting over who gets you.

A while back my pharmacist saw my deadname on my profile and accidentially called it out, he corrected and deleted my deadname from the system so only my preferred name shows up now. There was a crowd of people behind me, so as he hands over the pills he apologized, in equal tone and volume as when he called my deadname and lied saying it's been a long day and he didn't mean to call out -his own- name. I quietly told him it was fine and he didn't need to do that for my sake.

His response: "No, it's my name now."

I went to the pharmacist yesterday, his nametag is my deadname. He informed me he's immigrating and in the process he's changed his first name to my deadname to have an English sounding name. That's why he's now able to get a reprint of his nametag to be my deadname. And repeated, with the intense seriousness of someone who is going to die on this hill: "It's mine now. Not yours. I'm taking." His tone indicated that decision is final.

Bro literally deadnamed me once, and has committed to flat out stealing my deadname. It's his now. Legally. Officially. I over heard his co-workers call him by the name.

I personally am No-Contact Zoo, because i genuinely couldn't make myself touch an animal that way. But fuck. Animals can be so fucking hot. BUT i am completely fine with it being a fantasy only, because I care too much about animals.

If one loves a being in any way, one tends to want the being to be safe. And children and animals being touched that way by adult humans DOES hurt them. Psychologically. Scarrs them for the rest of their life.

I could never want the same that happened to me as a child to happen to another innocent being, be it an animal or human. Children and animals are sweet, innocent, fragile. They deserve to be protected, cared for and loved.

I add on. I am of the opinion that in FICTION and MEDIA, you can consume whatever you'd like. And also if it's just a sex toy! IDC if you fuck something shaped like a dog or kid as long as it ain't. It has been SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN that those who use, say, child-shaped sex toys(like dolls and stuff) are less likely to actually offend and touch a real child!!!

Imo i am all for living out fantasies if it's with fiction, toys, roleplay with xonsenting adults or anything BUT the very fragile, living being that is children/animals/etc.

Don't let your imagination be policed. That's the first step of control over someone.
