Dazed. [CA Open]
The shifter awoke once more, in a state of confusion. Did she fall from Heskeville into the depths of the world…? Judging by her surroundings, she doubted it. Strange odors attacked her senses as she clasped her hands over her nose and mouth. The industrial quarter in Heskeville had less of an effect on her than this foul air. It was enough to give her a throbbing headache.
She made haste towards the door the man on the screen in front of her gestured to. Leaning against the door, Kat took one last look around the room. White light engulfed the area, with an intensity that nearly left her blind. Squinting her eyes, she reached for the door handle. At that point, something clicked.
“Dusty? Hey, where are you? This isn’t funny…!”
The cosmic cat that followed her for as long as she could remember was absent. Usually, he’d be right at her feet, prepared to keep up with her, wherever she would run off to. Yet… he wasn’t here. At all. Maybe he was past this door. If not, she’d be starting off from square one all over again. No way was she going through that a second time. The first time was exhausting enough. Kat opened the door, and before her towered a grand city of considerable proportion. It was no Heskeville, but it was elaborate enough to catch the shifter’s eyes. But there was no time to sightsee!
“He always runs off at the worst possible time. What a pain!”
She sighed in disdain before spotting Dusty, sniffing around a passerby’s feet. Obviously they looked confused. Who wouldn’t be completely lost after encountering a cat with red eyes and constellations for fur? Her heels clacked against the pavement as she ran to catch up to the mischievous feline, scooping him up in her arms.
“Sorry! I don’t know what his problem is. New environment, I guess. Thanks for stopping him though. Name’s Kat! Any idea where we are?”
She smiled briefly, extending her hand out. She had no idea where she was. All she heard was ‘another universe’. God, she hoped that wasn’t true. That this was all a trick being pulled by Cyanea and Gade. Wishful thinking would prove to be her disappointment.
Notepad was again wandering and doodling. There wasn't much else for her to do in this place. She had gotten tired of painting all over the walls of the city. They usually vanished after a day or two anyways and decided to give up on keeping it up.While scribbling away on loose papers, occasionally tossing an unsatisfactory one into the street, Note made her way around this section of the city. She paused momentarily to stare at a passerby so that she could maybe scribble them getting stabbed or something just as gruesome. Note snickered to herself.
Just before setting out again, Notepad heard a soft meow from by her feet. She simply stared at it, unable to decide what to do. Thankfully the owner, she assumed, came up running only to scoop the cat up and apologize. Note wasn't really listening and was mindlessly doodling while staring at the stranger. When the blonde was finished Notepad flipped her pencil around and pointed it eraser first at her and her cat. "What a creative cat you have!" Note smiled down at the cat. "Too bad I cannot say the same about you, friend!" Her smile faded into a frown as she poked the stranger in the chest with her eraser. "Tut tut! What a shame!"
