I haven’t been on here or posted in a long time, and despite the fact that I’ve been still listening to Lover every day all the way through, other things have changed. I met the woman of my dreams, and all of a sudden everything else in my life took a back seat. I even got her to wear TS gear and take a picture. The moment when I realized I was in love with her, we were in her car and “Lover” came on (title track). I basically was hearing it for the first time, and I started crying uncontrollably even though I was the happiest I had ever been because I realized that for the first time ever, I was truly in love.

She saw that I was bawling and pulled over, and she told me she loved me, and told her the same. And here we are. At 30, just when I thought it would never happen, it did, and I fell in love with the girl of my dreams. At least partially thanks to Taylor.

Taylor has a gift of knowing exactly how to cut us deep, and affect us emotionally in such a powerful way with her music. I didn’t have a relationship end but rather something happened to make that relationship incredibly difficult for the future.

Point is, after this happened I tried to listen to Lover as I have done several times each day since it dropped, and I couldn’t get through many songs without just uncontrollable tears. And it’s so painful to endure that but it’s also in ways therapeutic.

Whatever Taylor experiences that influenced her writing “Death By A Thousand Cuts” and others like it breaks my heart because I can’t stand to think of her going through anything remotely as difficult as what I have, let alone something more painful.

So even though I’m not, I’m so so glad Taylor seems so happy now.

Warning! Not TS related material! But I was thinking of the VMAs that I witnessed firsthand on Monday, and Lizzo was incredible. I fell in love with her style and energy. And I could feel her confidence and her humility. The moment was huge for her but she thrived in that. With that said: for all of you younger ladies out there...THIS messaging is absolutely fucking everything. It’s something I think TS espouses in her messaging but coming from a woman that looks like she does, it doesn’t mean as much. So I loved this.

Offhand idk when the last time she played Bluebird was, but it can’t have been anytime recently unless she did something similar to what she did at Stonewall recently. Still, this is so incredible. I wish I could buy it. Idk if it’s a real painting or just computer-produced.

“False God” is really growing on me. So many influences that I have heard throughout this album, which isn’t something that has garnered my attention in the past, not that it wasn’t there, I just didn’t notice it.

But now, I can hear so many things. I wish TS would tell me if I’m right, but if I had to guess, I would say she loves the following:

Broadway and/or Show Tunes

Jazz (lots of Jazz influence in a few songs and some in almost all the songs)

Fall Out Boy (maybe other emo/pop-punk)

Big Little Lies (maybe a reach, but I swear I heard a bit of the BLL opening credits song in “It’s Nice To Have a Friend”.

Whether I’m right or wrong, this album is a force. I haven’t listened to anything else since the song “Lover” dropped.

One thing I love about this album, as I keep playing it on repeat, is on Track 1, “#I Forgot That You Existed), Taylor lets loose a genuine laugh, the likes of which we have not seen since #Fearless ....We heard feigned laughter on #reputation but nothing real like this since long ago. That’s a beautiful thing.

Andrea

I finally summoned the courage to listen to “Soon You’ll Get Better”. It destroyed me. To think that there was ever a chance that we would be without Mrs. Andrea here was devastating to even consider. It’s utterly an unbearable thought.

I’ll need to be put back together after even having that concept cross my mind. So I cannot even begin to imagine how distraught Taylor would be to hear that song and have those thoughts run through her mind.

Mrs. Andrea is so wonderful and vastly important. A pillar of strength and wisdom. A cornerstone of the Swift family, the rock for Taylor and Scott and Austin to lean on. Taylor’s biggest/first fan and her staunchest ally.

I never quite got along with my own mother. That’s tough to admit but while I love her, she’s not the nicest or easiest person to deal with.

That said, as a younger man (back then in 06-08) I was able to look to Andrea as an example to define the strength of character, resolve and inner beauty that define her. That helped me to learn respect for women, especially those stronger than I will ever be.

I’m forever grateful. ❤️ forever Andrea.
