yeah. you know that scene of Hakubo being forced to do all these things for humans and being confused by their often contradictory claims and whims? that's basically the well god's character in a nutshell. being confused by humans and their seeming inconsistencies and hypocrisies. I also do think that's why there is somewhat a special bond between them and Tsukasa who's like the one earnest/straightforward being with them. and also why they seem to especially despise Amane even beyond the attempted deal breaking. I actually also do think Amane and the well god are quite similar characters through their own hypocrisies and vulnerabilities they don't express (if they both even know they have them.) fake idgafers. both think the other is taking advantage of Tsukasa and doesn't understand him at all. tsukasa and his doomerist losers <3/fond

not much to add to this but you are cooking friend!! I think you are the first person I've seen compare amane and the pit god and this is a very compelling comparison! I especially enjoy the angle of the pit god potentially liking tsukasa but similar to Amane not truly understanding him? With the pit god its genuinely hard to tell when it's really them talking or just the twin they're possessing, so truthfully I'm not sure how well I know this character yet, but this would all be very compelling if true! I will be considering this whenever I reread the series.

Personally when I think of the Pit God I like to think of them as a final boss type character who can only be defeated through love and understanding. Maybe that requires everyone working together instead to take it down, but I think it's more interesting to at least examine why the Pit God are what they are and how they became a void that only devours life and how others could become that, too (like Amane...)

Also just the way they mimic Tsukasa's words in ch 82 is oddly cute to me...!!!! Maybe im crazy but it really acts like a confused little baby to me. And hey supernaturals eating people is a thing *looks at baby Hakubo* so just because this guy eats babies doesn't mean they're inherently evil. Probably. 👍 lol but if the pit god is meant to be some sorta metaphor and abstract concept then that's okay too. It's just fun to imagine otherwise! Thanks for the ask.
