Obviously we’re all suicidal rn but if things really do stay this way in the finale, I’ll still be proud of Nakamura going out of his comfort zone and growing as a person throughout this story. Even if things didn’t work out the way we wanted. That’s life sadly.
He’s definitely got the right mentality that Hirose is happy so that’s the important thing, but it’s also time to prioritize your own happiness. You’ll find the one I promise you 💔😭
Finally coming around to post my full Kyman Week 2025 story! More below the divider, since it's already quite the long post :p
For this year's Kyman Week, I've decided to give glimpses of my main "headcanon'd timeline" connecting the present SP with the Post Covid second ending, and what comes after. I used the keywords to illustrate punctual events throughout the whole story, which spans across 40 years.
Handholding: this one happens when they're 12, as stated on the picture. Eric is well aware, at the time, of the weird and annoying crush he has on Kyle, while the latter is oblivious to it and doesn't yet feel the same. The setting is a vague failed b-day party that ended up with the cake exploding, or something.
Forehead touch: here, we flip the situation--they're about 15 yo, and at that time Eric deems Kyle too gross and ugly to be worthy of crushing on, so he's mostly over it. They do get along better as friends, though, despite Kyle's hormone-induced bad temper. Said hormones also triggered a full-blown crush on his end, making him constantly aware, and questioning, of his feelings for Cartman.
Head pats: In their early 20's; it's pretty much mutual at this point, Eric having to deal with a now debilitating crush for his good friend, while Kyle is subtly trying to make an approach, feeling that maybe he has a chance (unfortunately, too soon, Kyle, too soon...)
Cheek Smooch: MY FAVORITE OF THE BUNCH AUGH; after a decade of tiptoeing around and pretty much pretending that they don't have actual feelings for e/o, Kyle ends up proposed to by his girlfriend, and says yes. Faced with the heartbreaking vision of Kyle at his wedding with someone else, and with the realization that he blew everything up by not owning to his feelings, Eric can't help but give him a peck on the cheek while not being able to hold back the tears of frustration.
Confession: fast forward almost fifteen years later. Eric has ruined his career for the umpteenth time, spiralled down to crash and burn, and ended up homeless--and then rescued by his friends, hereby reconnecting with them. Stan also got a hold of his life back and is about to get married to Wendy, and on their way to Boston, Eric decides it's time he spills, and finally confesses.
First Date: well into their forties, they finally go on their first date, hehe. I didn't want to wrack my brain too much for what they'd do so I just went for a classic cinema date. It's not really what matters here anyway.
Free Day!: I'm sappy as fuck so wedding it is (sheesh that's a lot of weddings and i'm not even into that in the first place wtf)! In my hc, Kyle's kids end up really liking Uncle Eric, and are quite happy to include him in the family.
I have a whole story in mind beyond just these snapshots, for all main characters as well, not just kyman, but it's rly mainly meant for me to have a canvas to explore ideas and headcanons, and I'm not sure I'll ever do anything serious with it beyond my occasional comics and projects such as this one.
In any case, hanks everyone for reading and enjoying!
