Varys is the only man-adjacent character in Game of Thrones that I care about. He cares about serving the people of the realm and acts on it. Meanwhile, you've got born nobility acting like fools, dying for it, and then damning the rest of the people who had no choice but to follow them to also die for it.

I just watched the Red Wedding in GOT and yea idgaf the Robb Stark died. He doomed his family, his people, and himself when he decided marrying an ugly woman was worse than winning a war he started. Don't start a war you're not committed to winning.

Yea, it's realistic straight man behavior, yea he's young and not supposed to be perfect, yea he's doomed by the world he was raised in and the narrative blah blah blah I don't care!!! All of this can be true and I still don't sympathize with him.

He's just like his father, too. Both Robb and Ned Stark are considered honorable but they're still products of misogynistic nobility who care more about themselves than the realms they're responsible for. Realistic, but annoying.

Put me in the dc universe and my facially blind ass could NOT tell Clark Kent was Superman. He changes his clothing, his posture, his cadence, his stance, his voice level (loud vs soft spoken), Everything about him is different except for his face. You could put both Clark Kent and Superman in a lineup and tell me to point at who's who and I Could Not Do It.

Same with Batman and Bruce Wayne, idk who the fuck Batman is and I'm only marginally convinced the butts are the same size, otherwise those two are completely different people and you're not convincing me otherwise. Put Bruce Wayne in the batman suit and I'd still think it's just cosplay.

actually trauma did make me a little funnier but it's because i'm an overfunctioning people-pleaser now and endlessly fawning because if everyone in the room doesn't love me i am in danger. i am hypervigilant and endlessly scanning everyone's emotions so yes i guess i'm quick-witted. i can't have serious adult conversations without feeling like i'm on fire and i always feel like i'm at fault for things i didn't even do. i need every difficult thing to be resolved right now immediately, i can't stand conflict, i am endlessly needy and anxious. i will cling to bad people even after i've been hurt continuously and i'm in a constant battle with my body to just rest instead of reacting. but yeah it. i guess. silver linings or whatever. it did make me funny

When I lived in London there was a murder of crows that lived near me. I fed them often, they brought me presents (shiny rubbish and cigarette butts they found on the floor to thank me.)

When I moved, I’m certain they understood I was leaving because I had all my stuff and gave them lots of food and compliments.

But, they chased down my friend who lived in the next burrough over. They had recognised that friend with me several times and followed them to their house when they couldn’t find me.

They adopted my friend and it was now my friend’s job to bring them snacks and receive the presents.

This was maybe 6-7 years ago.

I visited London last year. Went to see my friend. The crows all not only recognised me, they tracked me down. We got into my friend’s flat and not twenty minutes later there was chaos on the balcony.

We open the curtains, the entire fucking murder is there shouting because they wanted to see me.

Crows are the very best birds.

it really pisses me off when adults sit there and drill it into kids’ heads that their youth is fleeting and tell them things like “enjoy your childhood while it lasts because this is the best it’s gonna get”. why are you telling children that adulthood is the worst thing they can experience? seriously what the fuck is wrong with you, why are you trying to make them feel like growing up is a fate worse than death? trying to convince them their life is over before it even begins? i’m tired of that shit. because tell my why my 12 year old cousin told me when she turns 30 she’ll be so depressed she’s just gonna cry all the time. what the fuck. kids don’t need to hear that their already stressful and overwhelming lives are never going to get better, that the abuse and lack of autonomy they face is apparently the highlight of their lives. they need to hear about adults who are happy to be alive and happy to have made it to their age. they need to know that growing up rules, it’s a gift and life does not have to suck for them, that they have a future that’s worth sticking around for. this rhetoric is so damaging mentally and i’m about to start hitting the adults who parrot it. i’m sorry you hate your life but you don’t get to dump your issues on these kids. don’t piss me off and leave these babies alone!

Let's say I really wanted to reduce the number of children who die in car accidents. Car accidents are really bad, right? Nobody disagrees about that. And it would be much better for both the environment and the kids' health if they spent more time walking, or taking the bus. Perfectly reasonable. More cars off the road, safer roads, fewer kids getting hurt, healthier kids. A win-win!

Therefore, let's ban children from traveling by car and require all cars to have a scanner on the door that scans the government ID of everyone who gets in the car to make sure no kids are in there. After all, kids get hurt in car accidents all the time! We need to ban this right away!

The thing about the Karen Read trial is that when I first heard about it I was like “I hope they acquit her because I think women should be allowed to back over their cop boyfriends.” and then I dug into it and realized she genuinely was framed and she was framed by complete dumbasses and if she wasn’t a middle class, college educated, home-owning white woman, they would have gotten away with it and they’ve probably done this to people who could not afford to defend themselves. Then I learned about Sandra Birchmore and the other acts of heinous misconduct and violence committed by the Canton PD and I almost wished it was just a woman killing her fundamentally unlikable cop boyfriend and not open season on girls and women in Canton, Massachusetts. God, what a scary place to live and what a sickening rabbithole to go down.
