i officially apologize to clark triton! he's a good dad! i'm very happy he recognizes that, no matter whether or not they were justified by extraneous circumstances, his actions deeply hurt luke and were unfair to him...

it's good to know that luke's family isn't broken or anything! but certainly this whole ordeal took a massive toll on him anyway, as it made luke force himself to grow up to a great extent, so certainly his relationship to his family won't be the exact same as it was before (leading into luke's relationship to layton).

but do we know exactly how long this whole mess (descole creating the specter threat, luke being the oracle, brenda being kidnapped, clark being preoccupied) has been going on for? i'm curious...

Started rereading Ivory Tower and got curious - what exactly are the extent of Des’s injuries? I’m imagining smaller ones scattered about his body, like a little burn on his face or some cuts on his hands, etc.

Sorry if you’ve already answered this btw, or if it’s super obvious in the fic lol I’m just oblivious

I haven't talked about it actually! When I started writing it, my intention was to make him almost immobile but then I realized that I didn't know how to make that work. My initial intentions were: concussion, lacerations on leg and face, and full body soreness and bruising. After I realized that I didn't like all of that (after I had already written chapter 1 and most of 2) I just made it the large laceration on his shin, the dislocation, and full body soreness and bruising. HOWEVER, I do headcannon him having an insane pain tolerance. Injuries like this would normally have someone bed bound.
