Ghost Town T | 2/2 chapters | Warriors & Everyone

Summary:

After Warriors suffers near fatal injuries, the heroes take refuge in an abandoned town - at least, it appears abandoned. As he slowly recovers, Warriors can't shake the feeling that someone is watching him.

Inspired by fuwafuwallen's artwork, "Knight at the Crossroads"

The garbled sound of his own voice jolts Warriors awake.

Disoriented, he huddles in sweat-soaked blankets, letting a half-spoken sentence die on his dry tongue. The room wobbles and tilts, and he blinks to recalibrate his brain. It doesn’t work.

Then his neck prickles with the telltale itch of eyes upon him.

Chapter 26: Wild IV

Back. Still on my bullshit.

***Snippet***

“Wild!” Time screams, horrified, and Wild feels a rush of relief.

Time! Time, alive! Wild falls and feels himself grinning, the rain and wind nothing compared the sheer joy of seeing Time, there upon the dragon’s back.

Time!

Wild starts to laugh, his voice caught by the whip-quick air. He must look insane. He must look sick.

Reality, of course, hits him moments before the ground can: he gasps on a laugh and yanks the paraglider from his back; the force of its sudden expansion is so immense he fears that his shoulders will be ripped from their sockets. He shoots upward, the powerful updraft of Dinraal’s magic catching the fabric and lifting him high high high into the air before he can splatter on the ground below.

That would’ve been embarrassing, he thinks. More embarrassing than most other deaths, for sure.

He hears a chorus of jeers and howls below him and looks down to see a group of monsters gathered in the spot where he would ‘landed,’ their weapons raised and pointed in his direction. Wild bares his teeth in a satisfied smile and then, to his continued amusement, the monsters scattered with panicked screams as the enormous form of Dinraal shoots down past Wild and skims along the canyon floor, barely avoiding devastating impact. On its back, Time clings to one of its glowing spikes, but his gaze is on Wild.

Once again, Wild wishes his Slate worked so that he could take a picture.
